What a great and memorable day for Clockhouse

Wow! What a fantastic day! Today we managed, with your help, to plant 300 trees on our grounds and made a great start to the development of our outside area.
Thank you to all those who came to support us, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we all did!

Mass Tree Plant!

Today is the day for the mass tree planting extravaganza!

As you may already know, the school has recently received a free pack of trees from the Woodland Trust and is looking for help to plant them in part of the school field. The trees are all native broadleaved species, will grow into a flourishing young wood in as little as 10 years. The school has applied for a tree pack, from the Woodland Trust to enhance their neighbourhood and enrich the local environment while creating new homes for wildlife. This will make our area greener and bring all the benefits trees have to offer to your surroundings. Trees provide oxygen, lock up harmful carbon, trap pollutants to give us cleaner air and water, and provide a fantastic habitat for wildlife.

If your child has sturdy boots or wellington boots, please would you send them in as it will be muddy completing this project.  If they do not, please do not worry as we will get them to change into their plimsolls when back in school, if needed.  If you have spades and would not mind bringing them along, this would be helpful.  However if you do this, please mark your property so that it can identified by yourself.

Please feel free to join your child’s class for planting, to experience this extraordinary event.  Please refer to the below timetable to know when your child’s class will be planting.  The Romford Recorder will also be joining us.  This is a fabulous opportunity for us to work with the community and we welcome your support.

Reminder for week beginning 3rd March 2014

It was lovely to see the return of the children and you all on Tuesday and to hear about what everyone got up to in the half term. It was also lovely to hear so many positive responses during Community week from children, parents, staff and the public. We hope the children enjoyed the visit from Tony Cottee also, we certainly did!

By now we hope that you have had a chance to read and digest the Ofsted report, we fully endorse everything that was said in the letter sent out by Mrs Collard and Mr Leaper. Please do not hesitate to speak to either of them should you wish to.

Well done to the girls football team who took part in the borough tournament last week. Although they did finish 9th overall, they did beat the eventual winners - Ardleigh Green Junior School. The boys played Harold Court on Thursday and although the final result was a loss for Clockhouse (4-2) the last five minutes were exciting to say the least. Thank you as always to our supporters.
