AMAZING Achievement for a Clockhouse Gymnast

We are absolutely delighted to let you know that one of our Year 5 children, Grace Barker, competed this weekend at the Acrobatic Gymnastics National Finals. This is a HUGE achievement as, in order to get to the finals, the competitors have to win their regional preliminary competition first of all. At the nationals they compete against the best from across all of the regions within the UK.

Grace and her partner performed a near perfect routine in the grade one women pairs category and  finished in an amazing 8th place, meaning they are the 8th highest scoring Grade 1 women pair across the whole of the nation.

We are so proud of her, her hard work and her dedication to the sport.

Well done Grace!

Making the Impossible Possible - Going Above the Above and Beyond the Beyond Celebration

Hot Chocolate with the Head!

As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.

This year we are all working at 'Making the Impossible Possible - Going Above the Above and Beyond the Beyond' to ensure our school is a fabulous place to be. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Miss Ettridge and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this!

This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to 'Making the Impossible Possible - Going Above the Above and Beyond the Beyond':

Reception - Mrs Montague for being extra helpful to adults in the early years team and supporting Year 6.
Year 1 - Archie D for trying extra hard with his story writing.
Year 2 - Oakley M for making a great effort in class to remember lots of facts about castles.
Year 3 - Christopher Y for trying extra hard to work independently and doing so well with his maths challenges.
Year 4 - Dani P for being super kind and helpful to others.
              Mrs Mant for helping others.
Year 5 - James P for showing excellent behaviour and attitude in all areas of the curriculum.
Year 6 - Lucy W for showing great resilience and focus.
Miss Ward - Jack D-F for trying so hard this week and producing some excellent work.
Miss Ettridge - Buddy P-T for trying so hard during the tests even when he was not feeling himself.

Well done Year 6

Well done to all of Year 6. After a very grueling week they made it to the end of their tests. The children all tried really hard, were resilient and for the most part kept smiling throughout every test during the the week and there really were some tricky questions. They were an absolute credit to you and Clockhouse. We hope they enjoyed their little party. Thank you to all the parents and staff for the support they have given to the children in the lead up to and during this week and making sure they have all been in everyday.  We could not have been more proud of them all!

They had a lovely time celebrating!

Walk to School Week - next week

Next week we will be supporting Walk to School Week, help us do this by leaving the car at home and walking to school!
