Outdoor Classroom

Day 2 and we have the start of the fence and the first gate!

Parents meet the Governors -find out more about your school this Friday

Do not forget we are embarking on our first Parent / Governor meeting, this Friday at 9am in the Key Stage 2 hall.

We hope that these meetings will provide parents and carers with the opportunity to meet some of the Governors to help you find out more about your child’s school. We hope that the termly meetings will allow us to keep up to date with your views as parents. It is also a good opportunity for us to tell you about our role in the leadership and management of the school and to update you with latest information. During the meeting, along with other things, Mrs Collard will be taking the opportunity to share the Post Ofsted Action Plan with Parents and Carers and the progress that has already been made in securing improvements in order to see us return to the ‘Good’ category in the not too distant future.

We hope to see many of you there! If you are unable to make it but wish to know what was discussed, we will be publishing the minutes on the school website.

Charlie in Chelsea Magazine!

Our very own Charlie Gorgan appears in Chelsea Magazine!

Charlie is an avid fan of Chelsea and is also the font of all knowledge about the team.

Mrs Edgar arranged for Mr Thomas and Charlie to have a quiz about Chelsea with Charlie reigning victorious over Mr Thomas!

Well done Charlie - we think Mr Thomas needs to brush up on his knowledge!

Reminders for week beginning 24th April 2014

It was lovely to see all the children and you all back last week and thank you all for your supporting the PA with St George's day. The children certainly looked lovely in their red and white outfits.

As I am sure you have now seen the fence outside 3SG and the music room has changed, we hope that the correct panels will be installed within the next two weeks.
We are really excited that the next part of the outdoor developments starts this week with the installation of the outdoor classroom. Please be assured that all measures have and will be taken to ensure that this will not interrupt the day to day running of the school and the children's learning. We look forward to watching it go up and then using it

4CD are off to the library on Monday morning, if any of your children work with Mrs Duniam in the mornings please ensure, if you have not done so already, that consent forms are brought in tomorrow to avoid any disappointment.

5AW and 2HF start this years round of Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. Reminders for week beginning 22nd April 2014

Welcome back to the Summer Term everyone!

We all hope that you have had a fantastic Easter Holiday and enjoyed lots of time with family and friends.

As you are aware we are back to school tomorrow (22nd April) and are looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early! Please note that although there are no clubs this week, they restart next week, Year 6 Booster classes are still continuing this week, so for those who attend Booster sessions on a Tuesday, we will see you at 8.15 am.

Please ensure that all the children return to school with all the necessary equipment they require - full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats, home learning, reading books and anything else they need. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named.

A number of building works have taken place during the holidays. 92 lockers have been installed into the Year 6 corridor - please be aware that all the children's things (except packed lunchboxes) need to fit into these so please ensure children do not bring huge bags to school. Also the fencing at the front of Key Stage 2 has been altered to add greater security to the site, as well as the fence between Reception and Nursery being altered to create greater opportunities for Foundation Stage to work together. Finally Mr Gary and Mr Tony have been busy getting the lovely planters into place as well as building us four picnic tables for the Key Stage 2 playground!

179 children (10 more than in the Autumn Term) achieved 100% attendance at school last term, can we beat this this term? Good luck everyone.

Please remember that on Wednesday, in conjunction with the PA, we are celebrating St. George's Day and for a small donation we ask that the children come to school dressed in red and white.

Year 2 are off to Bedfords Park on Thursday. Please ensure that, if you have not done so already, consent forms are returned to the Year 2 class teachers tomorrow to ensure that the children can participate.

Here's to another successful term at Clockhouse Primary!

See you all tomorrow and have a good week everyone!
