Hot Chocolate with the Head

As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.

This year we are all trying our best to go 'Beyond the Possible' in everything to ensure that our school is a fabulous place to be and the children get the best all round experience possible. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Mrs Reinecke and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this and then they get to have Hot Chocolate with Mrs Savidge!

This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to going 'Beyond the Possible':

Nursery - Gursehj M for going beyond the possible and speaking to the other children.
Reception - Sophie A (Scotland) for going beyond the possible and always trying so hard with her learning.
Year 1 - Daisy C (France) for going beyond the possible with her writing and trying hard to create a description about her sea creature.
Year 2 - Zavian R (Mexico) for going beyond the possible to improve his presentation skills.
Year 3 - Nikos A (Peru) for always trying his best in class and sharing good vocabulary with his peers. Well done for going beyond the possible.
Year 4 - Lucia T (Uganda) for going beyond the possible and showing an improved attitude towards learning.
Year 5 - Dina T (Japan) for being an excellent citizen whilst on our residential trip! She tried all the activities and was a joy to have. She went beyond her possible.
Year 6 -  Charlie J (Fiji) for going beyond the possible to look out for others.
Greenland - Khloe F for going beyond the possible by using expression when reading aloud!
Office - Mrs Noe for going beyond the possible with her great organisational skills.
Miss Ward - Kenya P (Canada) for going beyond the possible and working so hard with all her learning, particularly her writing.
Mrs Reinecke - Mary Jane O (New Zealand) for her resilience and determination in tackling tricky maths challenges. She is going beyond the possible.
Mrs Savidge - Frankie T (Italy) for going beyond the possible to help in 'Time to Eat'.

Well done to all these children and all the other children who have been seen to going 'Beyond the Possible' this week!

Clockhouse Weekly Wow

Here is last week's Weekly Wow and as usual there were a lot of things to 'wow' about last week.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you that we have more Clockhouse Value Champions of 2023-2024!

A huge congratulations to

Charlie J (Fiji)

who has earned the Community Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Every lunch time last week, Charlie has helped Mrs Hazelwood with cleaning the playground, he was not asked to help, he offered and really got into this task at hand to keep our playground clean and tidy.

Lucas P (Fiji)

who has earned the Respect Champion Award for 2023-2024!

He has been working hard to greet everybody he sees in the morning and has also been kind to all of those around him.

Seren I (Australia)

who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Seren has been working extremely hard during bootcamp to develop her understanding ready for SATS (and secondary school). What has particularly impressed me though is her dedication to herself - she knows she finds some aspects of her learning tricky but will persevere to try her best for herself! This isn’t just true of her SATS revision but she also has adopted this mindset in the afternoons subjects. She’s really coming out of her shell to work with other children collaboratively and it has been lovely to witness. Well done Seren!

Cooper B (Japan)

who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Cooper is always kind, caring and supportive of his peers. This value ‘nurture’ certainly defines him. He is not afraid to stand up for what is right and he will often comfort anyone who is upset. He recently came to ask me if he was able to nominate someone for a ‘sportsmanship award’ as he has recognised the effort another child was putting into making sure everyone was enjoying a fair game. This made me realise how selfless he always is and how he is always thinking of others before himself. Cooper, you truly are a team player and a fantastic friend to all.

Adnan A (Argentina)

who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This child has been going out of his way to help other children when they are finding things tricky. He is often caught being extra kind. In the canteen when a friend was sad he comforted him and then helped his friend by cutting his food.

Jake F (Spain)

who has earned the Community Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This child has been a fantastic member to both the Clockhouse community and the Collier Row community. He is an extremely kind boy who is always putting others before himself. In March, he donated over 450 food items to a local food bank, which was completely his idea! In the Summer term, he has started a new initiative to donate books to Clockhouse School once he has read all of them! We are so proud of this boy and are so thankful that we get to have him as a member of Class Spain!

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!

In school TCS Mini London Marathon

The children had a great time taking part in the TCS Mini London Marathon in Schools. The children showed great resilience and not only enjoyed completing the laps but also the opportunity to socialise with each other.

Well done Clockhouse!

Year 3 visit Layer Marney Tower

Year 3 had a great time when they went to visit Layer Marney Tower. They got to look around this historic building as well as learn lots to support their learning all about The Greeks. They were certainly eager to tell us all about it when they returned to school.

Along with this, they were also great Clockhouse Citizens and behaved impeccably.

Well done Year 3.
