Clockhouse Weekly Wow

Here is last week's Weekly Wow and as usual there were a lot of things to 'wow' about last week.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you that we have more Clockhouse Value Champions of 2022-2023!

A huge congratulations to

Amelia S (Australia)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

She has really impressed me with how dedicated she has been towards her learning this half term! During our effective feedback day, we looked at her previous targets one of which was to become a more independent learner. She couldn't believe how much progress she had made in such a short space of time and said she was proud of herself for what she has achieved. I'm extremely proud of her too, she is a lovely and hardworking member of the class!

Amara S (Australia)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

She has definitely found Maths challenging in Year 6 but through sheer hard work and dedication to her learning, she is starting to make real progress. She is regularly the last one in the room, often working into her own time, striving to answer more questions or asking for support is an area she has found tricky. Her recent SATs Mock scores were a real boost and with a few more months work, I am confident she will get the scores her hard word deserves.

Finn N (New Zealand)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

I have been really impressed with how amazing Finn has been in all his lesson in regards to his enthusiasm in improving his learning. He always tackles any challenge with a positive attitude and is therefore also a great role model for others in the class in how to persevere in overcoming any challenge. He has made wonderful progress so far this year and I know he will continue to do so with his dedicated attitude and love of learning.

Emmie P (New Zealand)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Since the start of the year, Emmie has shown true dedication to improving her maths - a dedication that is truly paying off. Despite not always feeling confident in this area or how difficult she might be finding this particular area in maths, she always gives 110% to her learning in order to improve. Her attitude is amazing and a role model to her peers of what perseverance and self belief can achieve.

Amelia F (New Zealand)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Amelia is an outstanding artist. The care and dedication she shows when completing a task during her Art and Design lessons is inspiring. There have been many WOW moments when looking at the artwork she has completed and it is wonderful to see the pride and pleasure she takes in completing the tasks set before her.

Andrew G (India)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

We are so proud of Andrew in India, he has been working hard towards his targets. Last week he achieved 3 stars every day for his independent tray work. What a superstar. Keep up the good work.

Altay G (Argentina)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

He is working so hard to develop his confidence in class and is trying to answer some challenging questions. Ensuring his learning does not stop in the classroom, he has created his own learning diary at home, filled with amazing facts about a range of different topics, his weekly spellings and several stories that he has made up with his favorite characters. We are so proud of his progress and his desire to learn.

Tessa B (Argentina)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Throughout this year Tessa has slowly built her confidence with her own ability of what she can do. This has enabled her to develop a true excitement from the moment she steps through the school gates until the moment she leaves. She is always ready to learn the next thing, has built strategies of what to do if she is stuck and still ends each day with a huge smile on her face (even the tough days). We are all so proud of the progress she has made this year! Well done Tessa!

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!

Talented Tag Rugby Team in the making!

On 2nd February, Clockhouse took part in a Year 5 and 6 Tag Rugby competition at Noak Hill Sports Complex. They experienced an afternoon full of opportunities to play several games against different schools.

Taking part was a great opportunity for the school as it allowed the two teams to compete, build confidence and grow as a team.

Once arrived, Clockhouse got stuck in straight away with Team A and B both doing a fantastic job. Both teams grew in confidence in terms of game strategies, tagging their opponents and getting that ball over their opponents goal line. Amazingly, they did all of this whilst showing great sportsmanship after each game!

Throughout the afternoon, the teams carried on progressing in each game by looking for clear opportunities to get to the line and executed some brilliant passes and tagging!

After a long tiring afternoon of playing a total of 11 games, the Clockhouse A team had a excellent result of coming 3rd overall out of the 8 schools taking part! Very impressive!

Miss Macdonald said “Both Teams put in 100% effort at all times and it was excellent to stand and observe how the team’s came together to score those points! I was over the moon with how Clockhouse played and extremely proud to witness the school coming 3rd overall ! Well done!”

Players of the Day -
Team A - Millie
Team B - Tristan

Team - Lily - New Zealand, Millie - Fiji, Olivia - New Zealand, Finn- New Zealand, Marco- Australia, Bella- Fiji, Ronnie- Fiji, Freddy- New Zealand, Charlie- New Zealand, Alfie F- Fiji, Billy-Fiji, Oscar- China, Olly - China, Racim- Fiji, Riley- Fiji, Tristan - Australia, Cruz - Australia, Vlad- Australia, Frankie - New Zealand and Cerys- New Zealand

Fantastic Football for Year 3 and 4

Clockhouse were delighted to take up the opportunity to play in a Year 3 and 4 girls football tournament on 8th February. The girls arrived ready to progress as a team and try their best!

Upon arrival, the team was filled with nerves. They were a new team but excited to play. The girls warmed up and took to the pitch to play 4 games.

In every 12 minute match, the girls got stuck in and tried their very best. They made clear progress throughout all matches, working super hard to mark their opponents, look for opportunities and work as a team!

Some amazing saves were made throughout the game and excellent passing was shown within the team!

At the end of the day, the hard decision had to be made for which of the girls would receive the player of the day certificate. With a lot thought, I awarded Poppy for her excellent determination throughout all games and for giving 100% effort and never giving up! Well done Poppy.

Miss Macdonald said “As I stood watching the girls, who have never played as a team, work so well together. I was so proud of how far they progressed from match 1 to 4, with better outcomes in each match! Well done girls you have made me and the school really proud and set a great path for more girls in the school getting involved in football!”

Team - Poppy - Uganda, Dena - Uganda, Azra - Uganda, Lois - South Africa, Lavinia - South Africa and Amelia - Uganda

Billy B (Fiji)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

I am so impressed with Billy and his learning. He is really trying hard to apply himself in all lessons and loves to be challenged. Even when it’s a subject he finds more challenging, he will work so hard to compete the task to the best of his ability. He loves to apply feedback and is making good progress due to this. So proud of him.

Kirstie G (Fiji)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Over the last 18 months she has come a very long way, not just in learning but in other areas as well. She has put herself into situations that make her uncomfortable in order to build her confidence. She puts 100% in everything she does and is making fantastic progress across her learning as a result. I am sure she will not like being centre of attention now, but this is fully deserved.

Macey C (Australia)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Since the start of the year, she has been coming out of class regularly for Maths interventions. No matter the area of Maths, how difficult she finds it or what else is going on, she has the biggest smile on her face. Her attitude to learning is infectious and creates such a positive mood to learning in the room. (I believe this is Macey's second badge).

Hallee V (Brazil)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2022-2023!

This student is always trying to do her best both inside and outside the classroom and her aspiration to be a fantastic role model is clear. I am particularly impressed with all of the effort she puts in to her dancing work outside of school (as well as in our PE lessons). During show and tell, she has told the whole class all about the competitions she has taken part in, and won, as a group and she even has a solo dance coming up soon. She has definitely been showing excellence and thoroughly deserves the award.

Kiki KG (Brazil)
who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2022-2023!

This student is incredibly kind, thoughtful and caring at all times throughout the school day. She truly understands the idea of nurture and shows it in everything she does. She will often give up her own time to help others in the class and is always keen to support myself and any other adult she sees. Her confidence has come on so much since starting Year 3 and I am really proud of the kind, caring and nurturing girl she is. She definitely deserves to be recognised for everything she does to help everyone else.

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!
