Clockhouse Champions!

We are delighted to announce that, this morning, the Key Stage 1 gym team won their competition and in doing so, beat 10 other schools.

Well done to all those that took part, another fantastic achievement for Clockhouse! We are very proud of you all.

Congratulations to the three classes below who are our winners for this week - keep it up! 

This weeks winners are:

2SM - 98.33%
4KB - 95.98%
5NG - 98.79%

Sadly our attendance has remained just below our whole school target of 96%. With your support we are sure that this will return to above 96% after the Easter holiday - with your support we can do it!

A message from us all!

Thank you all for another great term at Clockhouse!

Happy Easter everyone from all at Clockhouse Primary School.



We look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 13th April.

Fantastic news!

We are very proud to tell you that no less than 203 children from Nursery through to Year 6 achieved 100% attendance this term, a truly magnificent achievement! This is 24 more children than in the Autumn Term and an all time school record!

Can we beat this in the Summer Term?

Thank you for you continued support and the importance that you place on your child attending school everyday and on time!

Weekly reminders for week beginning 23rd March 2015

We cannot quite believe we are already coming to the end of the Spring Term, it only seems like 2 minutes since we retuned after the February half term holiday!

We certainty have a busy last week of term however!

Year 5
Year 5 are off to visit to the Queens Theatre on Tuesday. If you have not yet returned your permission slip, please ensure that you do so on Monday.

Year 3
We are looking forward to welcoming our Year 3 parents to school for a morning of Learn with my Child on Thursday from 9.30 until 11.45. Please come along for all or as much of the session as you can make.

Nursery and Reception
We look forward to welcoming our Nursery and Reception parents into school throughout the week foe Easter Activities. If you are not sure what your time for coming in is, please speak to a member of the Nursery or Reception staff.

Lorrine Marer Workshop
For those attending, the workshop this continues this week on Wednesday - 6-8pm in the Parents Room (KS1 building).

Please do not forget that we finish school for the Easter holidays on Thursday 26th March, Friday 27th March is a staff training day so the school in closed to children.

Girls Football Victory

A big well done to the Girls football team who won their first match this evening.

The girls took on Pyrgo Priory winning 5-1.

Goal scorers were Promise, Brook D (with her first touch of the game), Plamedy, Charley and Olivia!

Well done everyone!

A big well done to everybody for all the positive Dojos that have been awarded this week, there have certainly been a lot!

We are very excited that, going into the last week, four classes top the Dojo League. Well done to 2JK, 2TR, 3LB and 5NG

3LW, 3HF and 4CD currently hold second position with 4LJ in third.

Well done to these classes and everyone else for really trying to earn Dojos for their class.

Clockhouse Hall of Fame

We are very pleased to announce that we now have our very own hall of fame, which will be used to celebrate and showcase some of the fabulous work and learning the children at Clockhouse do. Currently work from Nursery to Year 6 is exhibited.




Tag Rugby victory

Well done again to the Tag Rugby team who beat Elm Park Primary last night 17-8.


Another great victory and thank you also to our loyal supporters.

Weekly reminders for week beginning 16th March 2015

Thank you to those that supported Red Nose day, there certainly were some interesting painted faces around school on Friday!

Year 3 
Please do not forget that parents / carers of Year 3 are invited into school on Monday from 2.45 to celebrate the end of their theme Similar Places, Different Lives.

Year 4 - 4LJ and 4CD
4LJ and 4CD are off to visit the Synagogue on Tuesday morning. If you have not yet returned your permission slip, please ensure that you do so on Monday.

Year 4
Year 4 have their Egyptian themed lunch on Tuesday, please purchase tickets before school on the usual days in the Key Stage 1 office.

Lorrine Marer Workshop
For those attending, the workshop this continues this week on Wednesday - 6-8pm,

The football team play Parklands Junior at home on Tuesday in the semi-final - all supporters are more than welcome. The Tag Rugby team play Elm Park away on Wednesday and St Albans away on Friday - good luck everyone!

A big well done to everybody for all the positive Dojos that have been awarded this week, there have certainly been a lot!

Two classes have taken over the overall lead of the Dojo League. Well done to 3LB and 4LJ. 

2JK, 2TR, 3HF, 4CD and 5NG currently hold second position with 3LW in third.

Well done to these classes and everyone else for really trying to earn Dojos for their class.

Great Job Clockhouse

Well done to the netball team who have one both their matches this week!

On Monday the team beat St Peters on Monday 9-2. Goal scorers were Olivia (5), Summer (1) and Caitlin (3). Tonight they beat Squirrels Heath 7-3 with goals from Caitlin (4) and Olivia (3).

A great team effort, well done everyone and thank you to our loyal supporters!

Weekly reminders for week beginning 9th March 2015

Thank you all for your attendance at Parents Evening. The teachers enjoyed meeting with you and discussing the children. This partnership is so valuable in ensuring that every child is enabled and supported both at home and school to be the best that they can be.

We hope you also made use of the book fair that was in school. Well done and thank you for supporting World Book Day, there certainly were some fantastic costumes!

The Dojo League is back up and running!

CHILD BEHAVIOUR SPECIALIST

Lorine Marer is an experienced Child Behaviour Specialist who has been working in the field for over 11 years.

Her motivation for this is as a result of her own experiences as a parent.

You may have missed our introductory evening to a 6 week parent workshop but it’s not too late to sign up.

If you would like to learn to ‘do it differently’ with your challenging child, THIS IS FOR YOU!

You will laugh, cry and most of all – learn how to get it right without getting wound up!

The course runs from 6 - 8pm in the Key Stage 2 hall.

Clockhouse enjoy WE Day

WE day is an event set up by a charity called Free the Children who host WE days across the world involving 8000 schools. They encourage young people to do charity and volunteer work to improve the world in which we live on a local and global scale. 

This year we were lucky enough to take part in WE day. 15 children from Year 6 joined Mrs Johns, Mrs Payne and Mrs Mant at Wembly enjoying celebrities including Princess Beatrice, Holly Branson, Richard Branson and Martin Sheen giving inspirational speeches to the children. Young inventors shared their ideas, para Olympians shared their experiences of the London Olympics and music act including Dr Probez, Shawn Mendes and Connor Maynard performed.

The children were a credit from start to finish, despite the early start!

Everyone had a great day!

Community Week at Clockhouse

Community week was a great success with the children taking part in lots of different activities, working with different people across our school community as well as people from the wider community.

It was wonderful to receive the following email from a member of the public:

Hello,

I have just returned from Tesco in Collier Row.  I was greeted by two pupils from your school who offered me a shopping basket. My shopping was  expertly packed by two different pupils.  They were helpful, friendly and polite a credit to their parents and Clockhouse School.

I enjoyed my shopping trip today!

Weekly reminders for week beginning 2nd March 2015

We hope that the children enjoyed community week and all the different activities. They certainly proved to be fantastic Clockhouse ambassadors and were highly commended by school staff throughout the week as well as members of the community.

Please do not forget that it is Parents Evening on Tuesday and Wednesday, please see your child's class teacher on Monday if you need to book an appointment.

The Travelling Book Fair is visiting this week, this will be open after school each evening in the Key Stage 1 hall. Please take the time to visit and spend the vouchers that were sent home last week.

As we are sure you are already aware it is World Book Day on Thursday. For this we have asked that the children come to school dressed as a book character of their choice as well as bringing in their favourite book to share with their class. Any questions please ask your child's class teacher.

Year 1
Year 1 are off to Redbridge Toy Museum this week. If you have not done so please ensure that consent forms are returned on Monday. The children are going on the following days:

1CC - Wednesday
1KI - Thursday
