Fantastic News for Clockhouse - well done everyone!

As we are sure you all already know Clockhouse Primary School was inspected by OFSTED on 17th and 18th May 2016.

Following the disappointment of the OFSTED Inspection in February 2014 when the school was deemed to ‘Require Improvement’ we have worked tirelessly with your support and that of the children, to improve the school. We are therefore absolutely delighted and very proud to be able to attach the report that has now been published. As you will see the OFSTED Inspectors agreed with our judgement that Clockhouse is now a GOOD school in all five areas in which we are judged.

Your eldest child at Clockhouse will today have come home with the report which identifies the many strengths of our school and also gives us useful information as to how we can improve even further. We are sure you will be pleased to hear, as we were, that the Inspectors were very impressed with the children, they certainly lived up to expectation and as you will see from the report were highly commended for their manners, their eagerness to learn as well as the progress that they are making with their learning and much more. Please thank them on our behalf.

Further thanks must go to you all. As parents / carers, you continue to work with us and support us and for that we thank you. Thank you to the many parents / carers who took the time out of their busy days to speak to the Inspectors and say such lovely things about Clockhouse, it was certainly very humbling to hear and the Inspectors were overwhelmed with how supportive you all are. A further thank you must go to the parents / carers who took the time to respond to the OFSTED questionnaire themselves or help their children complete the children’s version.

If you wish to discuss any matters raised in the report with either of us, please contact us via the school.

Here’s to the next chapter in the life of Clockhouse as our journey to Outstanding begins. We both look forward to sharing this with you!

Yours sincerely

Mrs J Collard David Leaper
Headteacher Chair of Governors
