This afternoon

Good afternoon
Thank you for you help and support this morning.
All gates will be open as normal this afternoon.
Kind regards Mrs Savidge

This morning - please be aware

Good morning everyone,

I am in school with the site staff and due to the freezing temperatures overnight the playgrounds etc. are very icy. The team are putting salt down, as much as possible, but we are not convinced that this will make playgrounds safe in time for the start of the school day. Access to the school this morning will be by the front driveway entrance only. Staff will be outside to meet everyone. The back gate remains closed.

Therefore the following arrangements are in place:

Nursery please enter through the Nursery door.

Reception, Year 1 and 2 classes through the main door by Mrs Baker's room.

Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 to come in through the main Key Stage 2 door.

Clubs are on as usual.

As always everyone's safety is of paramount importance.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding help and support.

Kind regards
Mrs Savidge

Brilliant Boccia Festival!

Clockhouse took two sides to the Havering Boccia Festival last week. The teams were given letters to make it easier to identify each team. Clockhouse were given A & F.

The results for the group matches were:
F
Won 3-1 vs Hylands
Won 2-1 St Peters
Won 3-2 Newtons
Won 4-0 Scotts
A
Won 2-1 vs Drappers
Drew 1-1 vs Scotts
Lost 2-0 vs St Peters
Lost 3-0 vs Newtons

As a result Clockhouse F finished 4th overall in the standings while Clockhouse A finished 6th once results were combined.

Reflecting on the festival Mr Yarrow said 'Boccia is one of my favourite events in the sporting calendar. Pupils engaged with children from other schools & also get to compete in a fun environment!

All of the children did the school proud! Team Greenland were unlucky not to progress further having won so many matches. Denzel was full of energy and played some fantastic shots on his debut, and special mention to Leon W leading the side in his final appearance. Leon has had years of experience and will be very missed. Thank you to all the parents and Mrs Jackson for supporting the event! Well done team Clockhouse!'

TEAM: Leon W, Elliot R, Toby A, Teddy O and Denzel A

Boys kick into quarter finals!

Last week the boys football team kicked off the 2019 sporting calendar with a cup game at home to Gidea Park.

Both teams took a bit of time finding their feet after the Christmas break and it was Gidea Park who opened the scoring finding space behind the Clockhouse defence. Clockhouse fought hard to get back in the game, a John O cross was turned in from the head of Max N. Gidea Park did not lay down and come back fighting. Some high pressure from Gidea Park forced a distribution error from Clockhouse and again Gidea Park has the lead. This time John O hit straight back for the home side showing the Gidea Park defence a clean set of heels to latch on to Micah R's through ball.

Gidea Park wanted the lead once more but this time some fearless defending from Charlie B and Jake L kept the cup tie even. With less than 10 to play Clockhouse linked well in the attacking half as they had done day giving Morgan N the opportunity to set up Max N for a dramatic winning goal.

After the game Mr Yarrow said 'It's great to reach the quarter finals of the competition again. We linked up very well in attack but Gidea Park gave us our hardest game of the campaign so far and were unlucky not to progress.

It looks like Upminster Juniors or La Salette next up. Two very tricky opponents. Thanks to the parents and staff for coming to support the team it really makes a difference. Also a huge thank you to Mark and Collier Row FC for making the pitch look so nice despite the weather and for picking up the whistle!'

Mr Koten added 'I really am excited about the next game. The team have a never say die attitude and play until the final whistle. Today that was really important when getting the victory. Well done to all the boys selected. Thank you to Mr Martin for his support. Well done boys!'

FINAL SCORE: Clockhouse 3 vs 2 Gidea Park

SQUAD: Lewis W, Hayden M, Luke B, Micah R (c), Charlie B,  Max N, John O, Morgan N and Jake L.

SCORERS: Max N x2 and John O

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Jake L

Year 1 took their first school trip on a coach this week when they visited Redbridge Toy Museum.
