Year 6 loved meeting a 'Viking'. They had a great day and loved the opportunity to enrich all the learning they have been doing this term. They spent time finding out about Viking life and even learnt about Viking fortune telling.

Cross Country brings history to Clockhouse
The first athletics competition of the year arrived for Clockhouse on a chilly October morning. On a challenging course and in tricky conditions, all the children battled hard, showing incredible determination and resilience to do the very best they could.
Clockhouse history was then made when Joe won our first ever cross country medal, claiming an incredible 2nd place in the Year 5 race. The good news did not stop there, as George finished a fantastic 7th place in the Year 6 race and has now been selected to represent Havering at the London Youth Games. A wonderful effort from both boys and the rest of the cross country team – they all did the school proud.
A special mention goes to Gracie, who bravely battled through the race after suffering a wasp sting early on, showing resilience and refusing to give up until she crossed the finish line
Clockhouse Team:
Year 5 – Liv, Freya, Ronnie, Joe, Matthew, Abdul, Liam M
Year 6 – Harrison, George, Maxim, Jayden, Ousman, Hallee, Iris, Jess R, Mya, Gracie

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!
We are very excited and pleased to share with you our next Clockhouse Value Champion of 2025-2026!
A huge congratulations to
Andrea P-H, Antonia B and Belle C (Australia)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2025-2026!
These girls have impressed me recently with their dedication and determination to improve their learning. They have shown great initiative by choosing to continue their writing during Early Bird sessions, striving to make it the best it can be. Andrea and Antonia have also taken on additional maths challenges during break times, pushing themselves beyond expectations and showing a genuine desire to grow. Their commitment to improving their learning across subjects is truly commendable, they want to be the best they can be and I am so proud of them.
Reean B (New Zealand)
who has earned the Excitement Champion Award for 2025-2026!
This student has impressed me with his excitement and enthusiasm towards his learning since starting Year 6. He is eager to get involved in all subjects and it has been great to see. He has been relentless and rigorous in improving his handwriting - showing an eagerness to have extra interventions for this and so it was amazing to see his pride when a piece of his English work made it onto display too.
Elsie E (Kenya)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2025-2026!
I had the privilege of watching her perform in a Disney Gymnastics Showcase at the weekend, and I was truly blown away by her talent, determination and passion throughout her performance.
Elsie is now preparing to compete at Disneyland Paris this week, where she will be representing her gymnastics community on an international stage. This is an incredible achievement that reflects her commitment, resilience and dedication to her sport. Her hard work and perseverance are an inspiration, and she is a fantastic role model for others.

Parents' Evening
Do not forget that on Wednesday and Thursday of this week it is Parents' Evening after school. If you do not yet have an appointment please book this on line. If you have any issues, please contact Mrs Collins in the office. As you know, we are offering a blended approach, so if you have not done so already, please do tell the teachers if you want a Zoom meeting otherwise we will assume you will be attending in person.
Please do allow your children to be part of the meeting so that they also know how they are doing and what they need to work on. The importance of the co-education of your child cannot be overstated
Natasha Brind's Bright Day
On Thursday, we invite our whole community to come to school in bright colours. It would be lovely to see parents / carers getting involved as well. This is in memory of Natasha, our much loved member of staff who sadly and very unexpectedly passed away three years ago. If you would like to donate to Cancer Research, a charity dear to Natasha and her family, please do so but there is no obligation.

Hot Chocolate with the Head
As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.
This year we are 'Relentless and Rigorous' in everything we do to ensure that our school is a fabulous place to be and the children get the best all round experience possible. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Mrs Abeledo and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this and then they get to have Hot Chocolate with Mrs Savidge!
This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to be 'Relentless and Rigorous':
Reception - Mark S (Scotland) for being relentless and rigorous in always being kind, polite, helpful and trying his best.
Year 1 - Mahad M (Spain) for being relentless and rigorous in his writing of a setting description.
Year 2 - Alfie F (Mexico) for being relentless and rigorous in his efforts to improve his learning in every area of the curriculum.
Year 3 - Daniel H (Brazil) for being relentless and rigorous and never refusing to give up even when solutions do not come easily!
Year 4 - Zuhayra H (South Africa) has found rounding a little tricky in maths this week. Despite this, she has shown herself to be relentless and rigorous and kept striving to do the best she could. She is now starting to grasp this with confidence and we are very proud of her.
Year 5 - Avery R (Japan) for being relentless and rigorous in her efforts to improve in every lesson.
Year 6 - Rosie L (Fiji) for being relentless and rigorous with her English work and her purple pen editing.
Greenland - Poppy S-R for being relentless and rigorous in her swimming lessons and learning to swim under water.
Miss Ward - Zlata N (India) for being relentless and rigorous to overcome her fears and making fantastic progress in swimming despite being unsure at first.
Mrs Abeledo - Elliana S (Uganda) for reminding Mrs Abeledo to be relentless and rigorous when doing a job in the corridor.
Mrs Savidge - Jonathon A (Wales) for being relentless and rigorous in his approach to learning and school in general even when he had a poorly leg.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!
We are very excited and pleased to share with you our next Clockhouse Value Champion of 2025-2026!
A huge congratulations to
Eesa A (Kenya)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2025-2026!
Jacob L (Kenya)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2025-2026!
Gibson M-C (Brazil)
who has earned the Respect Champion Award for 2025-2026!
Every morning without fail, he walks past my classroom, greets me with a cheerful “Good morning” and a big smile, which instantly brightens my day. His consistent kindness and polite manners demonstrate genuine respect not only for staff but for the school community as a whole. Gibson’s positive attitude sets a wonderful example for others and reflects the values of our school.
Ralphie S (Peru)
who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2025-2026!
I have noticed this child going out of their way to make sure that other children are included for example, when walking around the school, he will guide those that find it challenging to do so on their own. He is the first to support myself if I need anything or if I have accidentally dropped something on the floor, he will be straight down to tidying it up!
A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!
