Weekly reminders for the week beginning 7th September 2015

It was absolutely lovely to welcome all the children from Year 1 through to Year 6 back to school last week as well as welcoming new staff and children along with their families. We were all pleased to see everyone and the children seemed to settle quickly, we are all looking forward to an action packed and exciting year ahead.

We hope that you like the new addition to Home / School Learning Diaries, which we hope will further help you to support your child at home. Please ensure that the children bring these to school with them everyday and that you sign them and add any comments.

Some children last week did not have all the equipment they require - particularly full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats. Please ensure P.E. kits are in school and that earrings are removed. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this, along with coats are clearly named.

Reception
Welcome to our Reception children who all start on Monday, either in the morning or the afternoon. If your child is starting in the afternoon, please enter Reception through the Nursery playground.

New Gate
As you are are probably aware from the letter that went out last Friday, unfortunately one aspect of work that could not be completed during the holidays, due to an issue with the manufacturer, was the installation of new gates for car and pedestrian access in the main driveway.  This work will now be carried out from Monday (7th September) and will last for one week.  We know that this is not ideal, however in the long run it will improve the safety of the site for your children.  Access to the site during the school day will still be down the main drive and Health and Safety during this time will be meticulously addressed. This will also not affect the Reception children arriving for school in the afternoon. We have met with the contractors and they have assured us of their full cooperation in maintaining the Health and Safety of the site during this time. We do sincerely apologise for this inconvenience and thank you in advance for your support in this matter.

As always we thank you for your continued support in all we do.

Have a good week everyone!
