Weekly reminders for week beginning 14th September 2015

The fantastic start to the new school year has continued this week, with the children settling well into their classes and lots of learning taking place. Despite this, attendance figures were disappointing last week, we are sure, with your support, it will improve this week!

As you probably read in the letter on Friday, Ready, Steady Read resumes this week so please come in to school to read with your child. We look forward to welcoming you on the days and times below:

Reception - Tuesday (8.45am)
Year 1 - Thursday (8.45am and 3.10pm)
Year 2 - Thursday (8.45am and 3.10pm)
Year 3 - Friday (8.45am)
Year 4 - Wednesday (8.45am)
Year 5 - Wednesday (8.45am)
Year 6 - Friday (8.45am)

If anyone has a spare couple of hours to come into school to hear some children read, we would love to hear from you. Please let the school office know and we will be in touch.

Please remember that Reading Eggs, Reading Eggspress and Mathletics, the online programmes that we subscribe to, are available for the children. If you cannot remember your password please pop into the school office and we will be able to reissue it to you. We will also be making sure that these are stuck into the children's reading diaries. If you have not done so already you will also be receiving you Dojo 'log ins' should you have misplaced them.

As you will already know, Friday is Jeans for Genes day, for a small contribution to this worthwhile charity the children can come to school wearing jeans on Friday. If they do not have jeans, jogging bottoms or such are fine. Please ensure though that children are suitably dressed for school, including foot wear, school rules regarding jewellery still apply.

Nursery and Reception
It has been lovely to welcome all the new children to Reception this week, they certainly seem to have settled into school life quickly! Do not forget that Reception children are due to stay for lunch this week. We are also looking forward to welcoming our new Nursery children and their families to school on Thursday for the Nursery Open Day where you can stay and play with your children as well as meeting and chatting with all the Nursery Staff.

Home Learning Club
If your child attended home learning club last year you should receive a letter at the beginning of next week. If you have not received such a letter by Wednesday and wish them to continue, please pop into the office and get a letter from Mrs Nash or Mrs Mortimer.

Please look out for the annual club letter coming out this week as well as letter for each year group with information about the children's learning this year and the opportunity to meet your child's class teacher. The September newsletter will also be coming you way soon also.

As always we thank you for your continued support in all we do.

Have a good week everyone!
