Well that is that then...

Dear Clockhouse Community

We have come to the end of the year and what a year it has been. Now that we have all had a few days away and the Summer holiday is well underway, I just wanted to spend sometime reflecting on the previous year and what we have all achieved together.

We have achieved amazing things and it is not until you have the chance to sit back and think about this that you realise all that we have done. This time last year there was no Multi-Use Games Area, there was no extension or Greenland as it is now called - it is hard now to imagine life without them. This year with the support of the whole Clockhouse Community we have achieved amazing things. We have raised more money for charity then ever before and our children have worked hard to achieve great things. From singing at the O2 and Queens Theatre to winning 4 sports cups as well as having individual borough champions in different athletic disciplines. From coming 8th in the borough maths competition to some brilliant performances on our school stage - Christmas Concerts, Achievement Assemblies and not forgetting our very own performances of the Lion King and Joseph to name but a few. These are just some of our achivements and the children and staff have worked so hard to achieve all of this. The 'icing on the cake' had to be Year 6's amazing SATs results, they certainly did themselves, us and their parents proud!

Thanks to the support from the Clockhouse families, we have been able to significantly enrich the curriculum for the children from visitors into school to trips out - without your support in this it would not be possible! Year 1 certianly had a fabulous time on their trip to Southend, Year 2 had a great time at Bedfords Park, whilst the Year 3 trip to Barleylands was enjoyed by all. Year 4 had lots of fun at Paradise Wildlife Park with Year 5 enjoying thier first residential to Condover Hall and Year 6 having a great time at the Natural History Museum to name but a few. Reception and Nursery even enjoyed a visit from a Dinosaur!

Whilst this is only a small snap shot of our year, it would be hard to capture it all we have certianly achieved a lot with everyones hard work and support - thank you! Please follow the link below to our own special review of the year:

As one year draws to a close and we all take a well earned break, we begin to make plans for the new year and we look forward to next year with excitement and antisipation. Clockhouse has done well this year and it is a good place to be. Whatever the new year does bring, together we will work our hardest for the very best for your children and with yours and their support anything is possible.

As you know, we return to school on Wednesday 6th September and we look forward to welcoming everyone and to hear about their holidays.

Good luck to all those moving on to pastures new in September, we will miss you all but know that you are more than ready for the next phase of your life. Finally, from myself and on behalf of the staff and governors, all that leaves me to say is a huge thank you for everything you have done this year, Clockhouse would not be in the place it is without you all. I hope you have a great summer whatever you are doing and enjoy a well earned rest.

Here's to a great 2017-2018 whatever it may bring.

Have a good one!

Mrs Savidge

Clockhouse attend the World Para Championships

Mr Yarrow and Mr Terry and some lucky Year 6 children got to go to the World Para Championships at the Olympic Stadium during the last week of the year.

What an inspirational experience for them all!

They even got to see our favourite para athlete, Richard Chisaro race!

A Summer of Sport

As a school we have had a very successful year in terms of sport!

The year ended with 5 very successful Sports Day, our annual Sports Presentation evening and a celebration for all our wonderful Sports Leaders.

Thank you from us all for the support you have all shown throughout the year as well as at the end of year events.

Year 3 Greek Day

The Year 3 children had a great time at the end of term celebrating the end of their theme 'The Groovy Greeks'. The spent the day doing a variety of activities and finding out more about the theme.

Their costumes were amazing as well!

Annual Sponsored Walk

The children, their families and the staff had a great time taking part in this years Sponsored Walk event. Even though it was certainly very hot the children were very resilient, did not give up and completed their laps in style.

Thank you to everyone who supported on the day and from afar. Your presence and sponsorship is much appreciated by us all. Together you all managed to raise an amazing £1832.37 - thank you so much. This will be put towards subsidising the enrichment activities we proved for the children in order to make their learning even more memorable and fun!

Thank you again from us all!
