Measles Outbreak in Europe - have you had your MMR

We have been asked to share the below information with you by the Health Authority:

Have you and/or the children you care for had your MMR (Measles,Mumps and Rubella) vaccination? There are currently several large measles outbreaks across Europe, with Romania and Italy being the worst affected countries. Any families travelling to these countries over the summer holidays can be protected by ensuring they are up to date with their MMR vaccination.

Measles is a serious illness that is highly infectious, but is preventable with a safe, effective MMR vaccination given over 2 doses. It can have serious complications in older children and adults who have not previously received the MMR vaccination. Older teenagers attending music and arts festivals over the summer period, and children with a weakened immune system are most at risk. Please see your GP to book your MMR vaccination appointment.
