Great job from our Year 5 and 6 Athletes!

The athletics season continued this year as the Year 5 and 6 team visited Hornchurch to take part in the Sportshall Indoor Athletics competition.

It is nice when competitions go perfectly to plan, but unfortunately this was not the case for Clockhouse today. Shoes falling off mid race and relay batons being dropped were just some of the obstacles the children faced during the competition. Rather than let this stop them, the children showed incredible determination and resilience to not only continue, to not only finish the race, but to fight back and finish in the top three on every occasion.

Mr Pye explained that hecould not be prouder of the resilience they showed to not only overcome these obstacles but also to support each other as a team. Both boys and girls teams showed incredible consistency, finishing 2nd or 3rd in every race apart from one. Off the track, there was some fabulous individual performances in the field events, highlighted by Tainara finishing 1st in the borough for her vertical jump! Overall, another strong and consistent showing from Clockhouse in athletics.

Boys team - George, Joey, Elliot, Maxim, Frankie, Zion, David, Harold, Ousman
Girls team - Hallee, Victoria, Tainara, Freya, Amelia, Liv, Jess R, Alexandra, Abeer

Clockhouse Weekly Wow

Here is last week's Weekly Wow and as usual there were a lot of things to 'wow' about last week.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you our next Clockhouse Value Champion of 2025-2026!

A huge congratulations to

Elsie B (Kenya)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2025-2026!

It has been a pleasure teaching Elsie so far this year! Elsie deserves a Learning Badge because she consistently shows a positive attitude towards every challenge she faces. She listens carefully, puts maximum effort into her work, and always looks for ways to improve. Elsie demonstrates excellent perseverance, even when tasks are tricky, and sets a brilliant example to others with her enthusiasm and determination. Her hard work, focus and commitment to her learning make her truly deserving of this award.

Elora D (Kenya)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2025-2026!

Elora deserves the Excellence Badge for her outstanding writing. She always takes great care with her ideas, choosing precise vocabulary and creating beautifully structured sentences. Elora listens to feedback and uses it thoughtfully to make her work even stronger. Her dedication, creativity and consistent effort shine through in every piece she writes. She is a wonderful role model for others and truly deserves this recognition for her exceptional writing.

Nyla R (Peru)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2025-2026!

This child consistently shows the school's rules and goes above and beyond to ensure she is always doing the right thing. She pushes herself in all of her learning and I am proud of all that she achieved so far this year!

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!

Year 6 Scientists Make Blood!

Year 6 have been learning about the circulatory system. They discovered the different components that make up our blood by creating their own representations of what our blood looks like.

Did you know that our blood is both a liquid and a solid? The liquid part is the plasma which makes up 55% of our blood. To represent our the plasma they used yellow coloured water with a pinch of salt - the salt is the minerals and vitamins in our blood. Next they added the solids. They started with our red blood cells (red dyed cheerio's), which is 44% of our blood. Then added the white blood cells (mini marshmallows) and the platelets (coloured mosaic squares) both of which make up 0.05% of our blood.

They had a great time and cannot wait to learn more about this interesting topic!

Fabulous Football from Year 5 and 6

On a particularly frosty afternoon, our Year 5 and 6 boys and girls traveled to Harrow lodge Primary School for the first phase of the Havering league.

The boys and girls played fixtures simultaneously against the same schools! Our first opponents were Newtons where the boys won 1-0 thanks to a late winner from Joey! The girls lost a very close game 0-2 where it could have gone either way!

Next up was RJ Mitchell who came away with a 0-1 win with a heartbreaking last minute winner. At the same time the girls had a very tough game loosing 0-5, but were even more determined to turn it around in the following game.

In our 3rd game against Squirrels Heath both teams shone! The boys winning 1-0 with another late goal this time from Reean! The girls finally got what they deserved with an outstanding 3-0 win, with goals from Penny and 2 from Amelia!

In our final match we played St Patrick's. The boys defended heroically and secured a creditable 0-0 draw, whilst the girls lost a very narrow game 0-1.

News then broke that the boys had won today's group therefore qualify for the next phase of the league!

Both teams played fantasticallywell in very cold and tricky conditions and both Mr Koten and Mr Terry spoke of how proud they both were of the Boys and girls, not to mention their outstanding sportsmanship.

WELL DONE CLOCKHOUSE!!!
