Great job from our Year 5 and 6 Athletes!

The athletics season continued this year as the Year 5 and 6 team visited Hornchurch to take part in the Sportshall Indoor Athletics competition. 

It is nice when competitions go perfectly to plan, but unfortunately this was not the case for Clockhouse today. Shoes falling off mid race and relay batons being dropped were just some of the obstacles the children faced during the competition. Rather than let this stop them, the children showed incredible determination and resilience to not only continue, to not only finish the race, but to fight back and finish in the top three on every occasion. 

Mr Pye explained that hecould not be prouder of the resilience they showed to not only overcome these obstacles but also to support each other as a team. Both boys and girls teams showed incredible consistency, finishing 2nd or 3rd in every race apart from one. Off the track, there was some fabulous individual performances in the field events, highlighted by Tainara finishing 1st in the borough for her vertical jump! Overall, another strong and consistent showing from Clockhouse in athletics.
