School Uniform

As you know, come September the children will be returning to school in full school uniform. As a community we take pride in the fact that all our children wear school uniform and would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for the support they give us in achieving this. School uniform is one of the ways in which we encourage the children to feel a part of the school community.

Therefore as you may well be beginning to think about school uniform for September in the not too distant future, please can we remind you all that when you are buying new uniform please remember that shoes should be predominantly black.

The uniform is as follows:
White polo shirts with school logo
                                                    Grey shorts or long trousers
Royal blue sweatshirt with school logo
Sensible shoes, not boots (preferably without laces)
                                                    Grey skirt or pinafore dress
Royal blue cardigan (sweatshirt) with school logo
                                                    Blue and white check dress

PE Kit:
                                                   White t-shirt with school logo
                                                    Royal blue shorts
                                                    Royal blue / Grey tracksuit
                                                    Plimsolls

Please note that the children in the Nursery do not need a PE kit.

Please note that for the foreseeable future, on PE Days, the children will need to come to school in their PE Kit. Days for this will be communicated with you.

Nail Varnish:
Please remember that nail varnish and make up is not to be worn by pupils. Any designs that have been painted on during the holiday need to be removed by the start of school in September.

Earrings:
Please also remember that earrings should not be worn for school for health and safety reasons.

School Uniform Sales:
To ensure that the start of the new school year is as smooth as possible, please ensure that uniform is purchased on the training day in September before the children return. Mrs Bowden’s uniform shop will be open on September 3rd and 4th between 12pm and 2pm, but will be shut on 7th and 8th September. It will re-open on 9th September.

Order forms for school uniform can be obtained from the school office from 3rd September.

Please ensure that ALL uniform is clearly named.

Thank you in advance for your support in this matter.

Summer Update Week 4 of the Clockhouse Family

Good morning Clockhouse,

I hope you are well and have had another good week. It is hard to believe that we are getting closer and closer towards the end of the holiday. I know for many of you, you are looking forward to the children returning to get some normality back but also understandably it brings with it concerns and anxiety. As we get closer and closer to the school returning, we will do all we can to support you and alleviate these worries.

I am pleased to report that the roofing at the front of the school is nearly complete and the works on the back roof is well underway. I am sure this will bring about more questions but please do bear with us.

Please be aware, should you need uniform, the school uniform shop will be open on Thursday 3rd September and Friday 4th September between 12pm and 2pm. It will then reopen Wednesday 9th September.

Summer Update Week 3 of the Clockhouse Family

Good afternoon Clockhouse,

I hope you are well and enjoying a bit of a break from the very hot weather we have been having. I am sure many of you made the most of it and hope that you are continuing to enjoy the summer holiday, although a little different, perhaps, to what we are used to. I know I have found it a bit different.

For those of you who have been past school recently you will have noticed that the roof replacement is moving on at speed and then workmen are working hard. We have also had two chimneys removed and the works on the flat roofs in Key Stage 2 are about to start. Mr Gary and the site team have also been very busy giving the school a very thorough clean ready for our return in September.

In the update I sent last week, I advised you that we were waiting for updated guidance on 11th August. Unfortunately, this did not appear but this has not stopped us in our tracks and we are busy planning. Although we have not got everything in place currently, we are getting there and if you have not done so already, I urge you to watch the video I sent out yesterday - A message from Mrs Savidge. Along with this, below is a reminder of what was sent out prior to the Summer Holiday:
  • All children from Year 1 to Year 6 will return to school full time on Monday 7th September.
  • It will be expected that all children return to school in full school uniform.
  • For those children who have a school dinner, this will be a cold lunch offer only until at least October half term. All lunches will be eaten in classrooms.
  • Children will be working in their own classrooms in their ‘bubbles’ of 30 children. We will also be operating on a ‘year group bubble basis’ so that staff can, where necessary, move between classes.
  • Start and finish times, as well as lunchtimes and break times, will be staggered. We will keep start and finish times as close to normal as possible.
  • Circulation systems will still be in operation and we will communicate how to drop off and pick up your children before you return.
  • Tables in Year 2 to Year 6 will be front facing whilst Year 1 will be set up like a Reception classroom initially to support the children's transition.
  • Our ‘Back Together' Curriculum will be in place which will focus on the children's social and emotional well-being, their mental health as well as their academic development.
  • Should a bubble need to be closed due to a confirmed case of Coronavirus, we will be offering a blended learning offer which will mean that learning will need to continue at home.
  • We will be adapting our Home School Agreement to cover Covid and you will need to sign this on your return to school in September.
I hope you enjoyed the art session with Mrs Reinecke this week, story time with Mrs Curry, the workout with Mrs Everingham and the other challenges that we have set this week.

What to look out for next week (should you want to get involved):
  • Session 4 of art with Mrs Reinecke
  • A fitness work out with Mrs Everingham
  • Art challenges from Miss Kearns
  • A poster reading competition from Mrs Jarvis and Miss Cason as part of the summer reading challenge
  • A challenge that involves water!
Please continue to stay safe and look after yourselves and each other.
If you need us please contact us via the normal channels.
Have a good weekend and week everyone. Stay safe and alert and keep smiling!

Summer Update Week 2 of the Clockhouse Family

Good morning Clockhouse,

I hope you are well and that you are enjoy the fabulous weather we have had again this week. With the ever changing picture in the world at the moment it is hard to keep up but I really do hope that you are getting some time to enjoy the holiday and making the most of a rather different summer.

Many of you may have seen the scaffolding up at school, this is to replace the roofing areas in the Key Stage 1 building - a huge job which I am glad to say is going well. Take a look at the photos below.

As I said last week, we are awaiting updated guidance for the opening of schools in September. We continue to hope that this come to us on 11th August and, after this, I and the Senior Leadership Team will be working hard to be in a position to communicate further plans with you. At the moment, all that was communicated with you prior to the end of the term, continues to still stands.

I hope you enjoyed the art session with Mrs Reinecke this week, story time with Mrs Herrera and the other challenges that we have set this week. Maybe some of you will get involved with the photography challenge posted today, this is obviously entirely up to you.

What to look out for next week (should you want to get involved):
  • Session 3 of art with Mrs Reinecke
  • A fitness work out with Mrs Everingham
  • Story time with Mrs Curry
  • An art challenge from Miss Kearns

Miss Kearns' Photography Challenge

·       Take 1 photograph around the theme of “discovery”. This might be a place you have found for the first time or re-seen, or a new food you have tried, or a new hobby or interest

·       Take 2 Photographs Around the Theme of "Memory". You might decide to photograph things which are very every day and routine, but sum up your world now, or you might decide to take a photograph of an event which stands out because it is more obviously memorable. Either way, how can you create a sense of “memory” in your photographs, either a memory to keep for the future or a memory you have from the past?

·       Take 3 Photographs Around the Theme of "Escapism". What things, people, places, activities help you create a sense of release and escape? Maybe your photographs will be of food, places in your home or garden, or local area. Maybe you will focus in on the small details of life, or maybe you will widen your perspective to the larger landscape. Or maybe you will manipulate imagery using software after you have taken the photographs to create a sense of fantasy.

We would love to see the photos you take!
