Weekly reminders for week beginning 28th February 2022

It was lovely to welcome the community back to school last week and to hear about everyone's holiday.

Thank you for your responses to the questionnaire as well as your positive feedback from Parents' Evening. We hope you found the meetings with your child's teachers useful and were proud to hear what the teachers had to say. We also hope the children enjoyed 'We are...' Week and they came home inspired.

We have another busy week ahead.

Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality
Despite the times we are living in, we have decided to go ahead with this termly event and this week is our termly focus Attendance and Punctuality Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school every day and on time (unless this is not possible for obvious reasons)! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school, particularly considering how much school they have all missed. Together we CAN DO IT! Look out for the daily updates!

Join us for an extra special breakfast
On Tuesday morning we will be providing our community with an extra special breakfast. Get to school from 8.30am to avoid disappointment!

Pancake Day
As you may be aware, Tuesday is Pancake Day and there will be a special dinner should your child want to take part in this (information sent last week).

World Book Day
As we are sure you are already aware it is World Book Day on Thursday. For this we have asked that the children come to school dressed as a book character of their choice. Any questions please ask your child's class teacher. As part of this, there will also be a special dinner should your child want to take part in this (information sent last week).

Sport
Good luck to the Year 5 Orienterring Team who will be taking part in a borough competition on Wednesday and to the boys Football Team who will be taking part in a borough competition on Thursday.

Being and Staying Safe Online

We all worked so hard during Safer Internet Day 2022.

Being and staying safe online is so important and something we are always learning about.

Marvellous Map Work

Greenland had a great time when they worked collaboratively to construct these fabulous maps.

They had to work together to make decisions and respected each other's views.

Great team work was shown by all!

Hot Chocolate with the Head

As we all know, Hot Chocolate with the Head is an important part of Clockhouse. Obviously due to the current situation we find ourselves in, sadly it is still not possible for us to come together to celebrate which is such a shame. However, we do not want the children to miss out and therefore the chosen children will get a special Hot Chocolate pack to enjoy at home!

As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.

This year we are all 'Making the Ordinary Extraordinary' to ensure our school is a fabulous place to be and the children the best all round experience possible. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Mrs Reinecke and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this! We hope all the children enjoy their hot chocolate pack - send us a picture of you enjoying your special celebration drink!

This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to be 'Making the Ordinary Extraordinary':

Nursery - George S for always setting an excellent example to the children in the Nursery.
Reception -  Ariyan A (Wales) for trying so hard with subtraction.
Year 1 - David C (Spain) for trying so hard to improve his writing by including fabulous adjectives.
Year 2 - Larry D (USA) for focussing hard on all of his learning
Year 3 - Quinn S (Argentina) for coming back with a positive attitude, being engaged in all lessons and helping her peers.
Year 4 - Hayley R (Uganda) for pushing herself in all areas of her learning.
Year 5 - Cerys H (China) for growing in confidence in all lessons by answering questions and showing resilience.
Year 6 - Chima I (Fiji) for stepping out of his comfort zone when performing poetry in class this week.
Miss Ward - Roman S and Lucas P (Japan) for trying so, so hard to improve their presentation.
Mrs Reinecke - Frankie W- (Kenya) for showing the 3R's even when it is tricky.
Mrs Savidge - Holly D (Uganda) for showing determination to succeed in her 2 minute challenge.

Well done to all these children and all the other children who have been seen to be 'Making the Ordinary Extraordinary' this week!

Our treats are ready to go and we are looking forward to Hot Chocolate Friday next week to celebrate with more fantastic Clockhouse people!

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you that we have our next Clockhouse Value Champion!

A huge congratulations to

Theo L (Mexico)
who has earned the Community Champion Award for 2021-2022!

Theo gives so much to his Beavers Group.  He is so proud to represent his community and wears his uniform with pride.  On our Dress to Express day he came to school dressed in his uniform and said he is proud to be a Beaver.  He explained how hard he has worked to receive each of his badges (there are many). I could see that for him Beavers is not just a club but something he takes great pride in and he does a lot for his local community whilst at Beavers.

Mason M (New Zealand)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2021-2022!

Mason impresses me daily with how hard he works in class to make progress from his starting point in all of his lessons. He is always eager to show what he has learnt and loves to overcome challenges showing great pride in the results that he achieves. He has used his new learning to help him become much more confident and this confidence shines through when he shares with the class or participates in drama activities.

Oliver E (Fiji)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2021-2022!

Oliver has gone out of his way to make an Anderson Shelter at home. He took the work we did in class and had another go. He really applied what he learnt to create something even better and more realistic.

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!

Weekly reminders for week beginning 21st February 2022

Welcome back to the new half term everyone!

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow (Monday 21st February). We hope that you all had a lovely holiday and are ready and raring to go for the new term ahead!

Please remember that school starts at 8.55am and learning really does start straight away. Doors open at 8.45am and teachers are available from then. We really need to improve our attendance this term so please help us out by ensuring that children are in school everyday and on time unless it really is unavoidable!

'We are...' Week
We have a busy but exciting week with all the children taking part in our annual 'We are...' Week.  Throughout the week the children will be doing lots of different things to inspire them about their futures. We have lots and lots of visitors coming in as well.
Friday sees the return of 'No Pen Friday' with lots of exciting things planned.

Parents' Evening
Do not forget that on Wednesday and Thursday of this week it is Parents' Evening after school. Teachers have been busy making appointments for everyone, so if, as yet, you do not have an appointment please contact your child's class teacher on Monday to make arrangements for a meeting. As you know, we are again offering a blended approach, so if you have not done so already, please do tell the teachers if you want a Zoom or face to face meeting. Please do allow your children to be part of the meeting so that they also know how they are doing and what they need to work on. The importance of the co-education of your child cannot be overstated.

The termly questionnaire for parents / carers came out via Class Dojo prior to the holiday and can be accessed using the link below:

As always we thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate that this takes time but your feedback is invaluable to us as we continually strive to improve the educational experience we provide for the children and families we serve.

No Cost Uniform Shop
Our No Cost Uniform Shop will be back open on Wednesday after school in the Key Stage 1 Hall. Please do come along as there is lots of uniform etc. to give away.

As part of their learning about animals, the children in Nursery and Reception were delighted to welcome the Zoo to Clockhouse. Greenland got to visit as well.

The children were very excited to meet the animals and find out about them. They were very respctful and responsible and showed themselves to be great Clockhouse Citizens.
