It was certainly lovely to welcome the children from Year 1 to Year 6 back to school last week as well as welcoming our Reception families. The children certainly lived up to expectation and took returning to school in their stride. Their adaptability and resilience never ceases to amaze me. They settled so quickly into their classes with lots of learning taking place. Thank you also for the respect you showed on Friday, this meant a lot to us as a school.
Nursery
Welcome to our Nursery children who will be starting with us later in the week, as with Reception we look forward to welcoming the children and their families to Clockhouse.

Thursday 15th September - Year 5
Friday 16th September - Year 4
Stunning Starters
Throughout this week and next many year groups will be doing their Stunning Starters for their new theme. I am sure the children will be very excited to come home and tell you all about it.
Wow Day
We are very much looking forward to our annual WOW day(s) on Tuesday (Year 4 and 5), Wednesday (Year 1 and 2) and Thursday (Year 3 and 6)! Ask them what they got up to when they get home!

Year 5
A part of our Bee Project with the Institute of Directors, some of our Year 5 children are off to visit them on Monday.
Things to be aware of
You may have noticed that there were no celebrations published on Friday as you would normally expect. This year we will be having Achievement Assembly on a Monday to get the week off to a fabulous start. The first one of the year is tomorrow and we already have so much to celebrate!
The Reading Raffle is back - when reading with your child at home, please comment in their reading diaries when they come home so that they get the children get a raffle ticket and are entered into the weekly draw.
Hot Chocolate with the Head is back in person, children will celebrate with me on a weekly basis should they win this award rather than bringing it home with them. You will get a call if your child has won to ensure they have permission for this.
Monday 19th September
Following the sad news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, as I am sure you are aware, we have now had confirmation that her funeral will be Monday 19th September. This has been declared a Bank Holiday and school will therefore be closed on this day. We will be back to normal on Tuesday 20th September.
The following letters went out last week:
Walking home - Year 3 to Year 6
Roman Day - Year 5
Nut Allergy - Nut Free School
Meet the Teacher / Learn with My Child
As always we thank you for your continued support in all we do.
Have a good week everyone!
