Hot Chocolate with the Head

As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.

This year we are all trying our best to go 'Beyond the Possible' in everything to ensure that our school is a fabulous place to be and the children get the best all round experience possible. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Mrs Reinecke and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this and then they get to have Hot Chocolate with Mrs Savidge!

This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to going 'Beyond the Possible':

Nursery - Albie for going beyond the possible and being kind to others.
Reception - Adam U (Wales) for going beyond the possible and trying very hard to practise his writing.
Year 1 - Alaya Z (Italy) for going beyond the possible and creating a fabulous description of the fox.
Year 2 - Esme B (Mexico) for going beyond the possible with her learning in Maths.
Year 3 - Darius P (Peru) for going beyond the possible and working really hard to complete his pencil case, managing to do a neat stitch with very little support.

Year 5 - Aimee C (Japan) for her excellent work on division and going beyond the possible with her maths challenges.
Year 6 - Mia W (New Zealand) for going beyond the possible with her amazing effort and a can do attitude in this round of MOCK SATs.

Clockhouse Weekly Wow

Here is last week's Weekly Wow and as usual there were a lot of things to 'wow' about last week.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you that we have more Clockhouse Value Champions of 2023-2024!

A huge congratulations to

Ruhama Y (New Zealand)

who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Ruhama is a very caring young lady who always wants to make sure that everyone in class is ok and happy. She goes out of her way to support her friends and peers in what they are doing or in encouraging them to keep trying when they get stuck on a problem. Within class, she is also helpful in completing jobs around the classroom and would help anyone who is in need.

Amelia R (Japan)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This child strives for excellence in all she does. From art to maths, she will always give 110% and always seeks ways to further improve and develop her learning. The ability to continuously reflect and strive to further improve her learning will certainly take her far. She is a very worthy winner of the excellence badge and I am very proud of her.  Well done Amelia

Alfie T (Japan)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Alfie always listens well to feedback and is continuously wanting to do better. In Japan, he is known as our mathematician however it has been his writing ability that has impressed me the most so far this year. He will edit his work to ensure it is the highest quality and will take care when using ambitious vocabulary to further improve writing. I always look forward to reading his writing, it is such a joy to read.

Safae B (India)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This student is always trying her best to make as much progress as possible. I have been astounded at the effort she has put in and the amount of things she has achieved since being at Clockhouse. Recently, she impressed me when writing a balanced argument about our book, 'Journey to Jo'burg,' and has generally been a fantastic role model to our class when it comes to learning. Keep it up!

Jack A (South Africa)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This member of our class has impressed me so much this year with his fantastic contributions to our afternoon lessons!  He listens carefully, asks relevant questions and loves to share his thoughts and opinions during class discussions. He has shown a particular interest in our Ancient Egypt topic and has absorbed so much information which he gladly shares with the class, something which he hasn't always had the confidence to do in the past.  It has been wonderful to see his confidence and engagement in lessons improve so much and other members of staff around the school have noticed this too. Well done Jack A, we are all super proud of you!

Roy D (Brazil)

who has earned the Respect Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This child always shows respect to his peers and adults around the school, and helps other children do the same. He is always diligent in his approach to tasks, and will show the correct behaviour when learning inside and outside of the classroom.

Colby V (Canada)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2023-2024!

When nominating him it was really difficult to decide on the most appropriate badge, which is a true sign of excellence. He is a kind, caring and nurturing member of the class who will always go out of his way unasked to help others, whether that be by holding a door or reading to his class mates in DEAR time. He is always ready and willing to help others. He tries hard in his learning and will always support his friends to achieve their best too, which especially shone through when learning about performance poetry. He is not only a good role model to his peers in class, but consistently displays all of his admirable qualities outside of the classroom too. He is a true asset to class Canada.

Bilal W (Canada)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Some tasks do not always come easy to him, but he meets each and every challenge with a huge smile and so much determination! He works hard to reach his potential in every lesson and never gives up. All of the adults in school love the opportunity to work with him as they know he will always give his best, not only in regards to his own learning, but by supporting others and encouraging them. It is a real privilege to be his teacher.

Chase S (Spain)

who has earned the Excitement Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This boy is always excited to learn and push himself. He is resilient with his learning and tries so hard in every aspect. He perseveres when things are tricky and is always excited to give things a try. He comes into school every morning with a smile and an amazing attitude towards his learning. We are all so proud of his progress and love seeing him excited about his learning.

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!

Our Clockhouse Christmas
We are very excited to officially launch Our Clockhouse Christmas on Friday.

On Friday, the children will be spending some time transforming their classrooms and the whole school into Christmas. We want to go even bigger and better than last year. This is where you come in. If you have any spare decorations that you would be willing to donate to us, we really would be most grateful. Please either give these to class teachers or hand to the main school office. Thank you in advance.

Each week, up until Christmas, we have lots of lovely things planned which will be integrated into the children's learning. We hope this will ensure that the children have the best time possible in the lead up to the big day.

Reception - Year 6
Please remember that the nurses are back on Monday to complete any flu immunisations that were missed previously.

Year 1

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

A huge congratulations to

Leani F (New Zealand)

who has earned the Community Champion Award for 2023-2024!

We are all so proud of Leani in New Zealand. Earlier this year, she wrote a story about the litter picking event that she organised in March 2022 and for this she was nominated for the national unsung scout hero award. Even though she didn't win, the Scout Association are going to be writing a piece about the amazing work she did in the community for their website and social media platforms. We think this shows Leani to be a role model to others who inspires them think about ways that they too could help and support their local community.

Clockhouse show great promise!

Clockhouse had a great time when they attended the Year 3 and 4 football tournament.

The team arrived ready and determined to play to the best standard possible. The team demonstrated great team work and put in tremendous effort throughout the day.

The team stepped onto the pitch to play the first match of the day against Langtons, the team had a great start passing the ball around with precision not hesitating to tackle for the ball. Harry the Goal Keeper made an excellent save keeping the boys in the game, the short game came to and end with a 0-0 draw.

The next game soon came around where Clockhouse played St Joseph’s with a great performance from all players, Caleb changed the game putting Clockhouse in front with an excellent goal followed up by another goal by Reean, the team carried on pushing until the end with a full time result of 2-0. This was followed by a great 3-0 win against Scotts Primary, with some outstanding goals from Elliot, Liam and George, the whole team excelled with Jack and Frankie not backing down in defence!

In next match the boys faced Gidea Park Primary. Their momentum started to grow as the boys played as a team and where pushed to play at their highest standard, never giving up and ending the match with a goalless draw.

The boys showed immense determination not backing down despite facing their most challenging opponent’s yet Harold Wood Primary, The players worked harmoniously, passing the ball with precision and supporting each other on and off the pitch, despite being a goal down the boys pushed through and played their best until the whistle with a last match of the day finishing 1-0 down.

In conclusion, our Year 3 and 4 team played exceptionally well as a team. Their hard work, passion, and dedication was evident throughout the match. Their incredible teamwork and individual skills were truly commendable, making them a force to be reckoned with on the football pitch.

Team - Reean (Kenya), Elliot (Uganda), Harry N (Uganda), Jack (South Africa), Liam (Brazil), Frankie (South Africa), Caleb (Uganda) and George (Uganda)
