Weekly reminders for week beginning 13th January 2025

It was lovely to welcome everyone back to school last week and here all about their holiday. It was certainly business as usual and the children were quick and eager to get on with their learning.

As requested last week, please ensure the children come to school with all the necessary equipment they require - water bottles, coats, reading books and diaries and anything else they need. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform / PE uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named.

Clubs
Please remember that all clubs resume this week.

Year 6
Year 6 will be taking part in Mock SATs test this week (Tuesday - Thursday), please do support them and make sure they get plenty of rest so that they can do their best. This is to help the children prepare for their tests in May as well as to help to inform learning and teaching.

Year 5
Please be aware that a small selection of our Year 5 children will be working with the police on Tuesday morning to educate drivers about the speed they go down Clockhouse Lane.

Year 5 have their Space Workshop on Thursday. Thank you to all those who have already paid for this. If you have not done so, please do so by the end of the day on Tuesday.

Special Dinner for all
On Thursday we have the first special dinner day of 2025. It would be really good to get as many people as possible having dinner on Thursday as this determines some of our schools funding. We really do appreciate your help in this matter. A copy of the menu was shared on Friday.

Is your child, or a child you know due to start Reception in September 2025?
Please remember that applications for Reception 2025 need to be submitted by 15th January. Even if you child attends our Nursery you MUST still apply. If they have an older sibling in the school, please ensure you make this claim as well. This is done through the Local Authority website.

Sport
Good luck to the Year 3 and 4 Badminton team who take part in a borough competition on Monday.

Things to be aware of
Our Governors will be in school on 22nd January and will be in the playground at the start of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.
