Day 49 of the Clockhouse Family

Good evening Clockhouse

Another lovely sunny day today which I hope you have all enjoyed. I do hope that you are making the most of the holiday under the circumstances. 

Having listened to Boris Johnson this evening, our plans and adaptations will continue in earnest for the gradual reopening of the school next week. I have added a few photos below to show you some of what we are doing and more information will be coming to you tomorrow and over the weekend to ensure that we are as ready as possible to open the school from Tuesday to those who have already indicated that their children will be retuning. As our plans continue to move forward, we will of course communicate this with you in an open, honest and timely manner. I hope you like our social distancing markers outside! We will, as always endeavor to make this experience as positive and comfortable for all concerned. We are also looking forward to welcoming the rest of the school back virtually on Monday when on line learning will resume.

In school, the children have been busy as have the staff. With the weather being so lovely Team Hawaii have been making the most of the school grounds and spending a lot of their half term holiday outside.  'Team Th3' have been working with the children and supporting the community. Miss Burrell has worked with Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and Miss Jones with Year 3, 4, 5 and 6. They have been supported by Mrs Jackson and Mrs Odger with Mrs Montague in the office. We also had Mr Ron with us and I have been in school as well.

As today is Week 10 of Clap the Carers, we have a special video for you to commemorate this, which will be launched shortly - watch this space! Remember to clap tonight for all those people doing so much for our country as well as our own key workers, front line workers and our own school staff!

Day 48 of the Clockhouse Family

Good evening Clockhouse

I hope you have had a good day and are enjoying this different if not special half term. 

We have been in school again today busy planning. As a school we are desperate to make this as an enjoyable and welcoming experience as is possible for those joining us and will do all we can to ensure this, whilst also ensuring the school is as safe as is possible. For those of you who have children coming back next week, I hope you found the video information sent out earlier useful. More information will be coming your way to confirm everything, once final plans are put in place. We hope this will be by the end of the week.

Please be aware that next week school will only be open to key worker children on Monday, this is to ensure staff are trained ready for more people to return. I do appreciate this could be difficult but I am sure you can understand in the interests of Health and Safety we have to ensure all training is complete. Therefore next week will be as follows:

Monday - Key Worker children only

Tuesday - Key Worker children and Nursery and Reception only

Wednesday - Key Worker children only

Thursday - Key Worker children and Year 1 and Year 6 only

Friday - Key Worker children and Year 1 and Year 6 only

In school, the children have had a busy and fun day, as was the case yesterday, they enjoyed being outside and loved making boats! 'Team W3' have been working with the children and supporting the community. Mrs Herrera has worked with Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 whilst Miss Taylor has worked with Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and 6. They have been supported by Mrs Faux and Mrs Orchard. Mrs Kenealy has been in the office and we also had Mr Gary and Mr Ron with us. All of the Senior Leadership Team have been also been in school today.

Look out for a special video coming out tomorrow to commemorate 10 weeks of 'Clap for the Carers'!

I hope you have all had an enjoyable day whatever you have been up to. I do hope you are all keeping well, had an enjoyable Bank Holiday and are enjoying the half term as best you can. I do know that some of our families are going through some particularly difficult times at present and I am sure you will join with me and sending our thoughts to them. 

Thank you for your positive response to my video this morning, I do hope you found it useful. Thank you to everyone in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 who have told us whether or not their child will be coming back to school at the beginning of June. As I said this morning, I hope to be able to tell you the exact date for this tomorrow. Please do remember that school will be open as follows (exact timings to follow):

Monday and Tuesday (only) - Nursery and Reception 

Wednesday - Closed to everyone except Key Worker children

Thursday and Friday (only) - Year 1 and Year 6 

Monday - Friday - Key Worker children (Class Hawaii)

Following a number of meetings tomorrow I hope to be able to communicate more information with you in the near future. Please keep an eye out for this. As always thank you for your on-going support and patience.

Mr Terry has worked with Nursery, Reception and Year 1, Miss Spencer with Year 2, 3 and 4 and Miss Wilson with Year 5 and 6. They have been supported by Mrs Ford and Mrs Davoren. Mrs Lowe has been in the office. Mr Gary has also been with us. Mrs Reinecke has been in school today whilst I have only been a phone call away.
