A big WELL DONE to
you all, you have completed two weeks of home schooling, hard to believe
really! You have continued to amaze us with your commitment and support and
again thank you for your kind messages, support and respect during this hard
time. It is hard for us all, but together we will get through it and come back
together soon (I hope)!
I hope you are all
keeping well and staying indoors for the good of everyone! It is hard when the
weather is so nice but we really must for the good of us all.
As I said last week,
it is now the ‘Easter Holiday’ although very different from any other holiday
we have had, everyone does deserve a bit of a rest so that our batteries can be
recharged and we are ready to go again on Monday 20th April when we
will return to the home schooling regime! Our advice over the holiday period is
to rest and have some fun, spend time as a family and just do the best you can.
We would encourage you to keep some routine so that when we return after the
holidays you and the children can get back into the full swing of things with
relative ease.
For the next two
weeks there will be no home learning set on Google Classroom each day. This
will return on Monday 20th April. There will however be a few things
to look out for to keep you going, should you wish to take part:
- On Monday the weekly learning sheet will be sent to you with ideas of things you can do and websites you can access should you wish
- A daily up date from me (I know you have got used to two but for the holiday we will go down to the one evening update)
- The next 5 parts of the 30 Day Lego Challenge
- The Challenge of the Day
- An online questionnaire will be coming home to you (we would be grateful for your feedback)
- Look out for something called ‘Votes For Schools’
- As well as anything else we can find you help you along the way!
Other things to be
aware of:
- There will continue to be school staff in school every day, but this will be on a rota basis and will only be a skeleton staff.
- The best way to contact teachers / school staff is messaging via Class Dojo, please be aware that this will not be manned as closely as it has been over the last two weeks whilst the school staff have some kind of holiday. If you do need us though we are still here and this form of communication can be used. Our responses might just be a little slower.
- The school phones will only be manned between 7.45am and 4.00pm. Please do not hesitant to call, even if it is only for a chat. If we cannot talk at that moment, someone will get back to you as soon as they can. Please only use option 3 and 5, as other lines will not be manned due to the reduced work force each day.
- We will continue to ask for a weekly return from those key workers who may need child care for the next week, please wait to be asked for this. Please do keep in mind that the government are very clear that ‘you should only send your child to school if you have to, because your work is critical to the COVID-19 response. If you are able to keep your child at home, you should’.
- Should your child be eligible for Free School Meals and moving forward you decide that you need to access this, please alert us in good time. All those who have already alerted us will be joined to ‘The Lunchroom’ on Dojo and will receive a separate message.
Please keep sharing
your pictures with us, we love seeing them. Be sharing with us via class dojo
or our other platforms, we will take this as your consent for wider sharing. If
you do not want photos shared please do not send them.
These are very
strange, unprecedented times and we will continue to do all we can to support
you. Your feedback from the questionnaire when it comes home will help us with
this.
I am sure you will
want to join with me in thanking those in our community who are front line and
key workers and also our great staff team who are working so hard during this
difficult time.
Thank you for your
kind messages and on-going support, it really keeps us going and makes us
smile.
We are still one
community and are here for you all. Our school – a family and a home for
everyone!
#ourclockhousefamily
Keep smiling and stay
safe.
Mrs Savidge
