Hot Chocolate with the Head

As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.

This year we are all trying our best to go 'Beyond the Possible' in everything to ensure that our school is a fabulous place to be and the children get the best all round experience possible. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Mrs Reinecke and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this and then they get to have Hot Chocolate with Mrs Savidge!

This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to going 'Beyond the Possible':

Nursery - Isabella S for going beyond the possible to play so nicely with her friends.
Reception - Jack S (Scotland) for trying so hard to go beyond the possible with his learning.
Year 1 - Charlie C (France) for going beyond the possible and showing amazing enthusiasm in all aspects of his learning.
Year 2 - Filip S (USA) for working hard to go beyond the possible to improve in all areas of his learning.
Year 3 - Matthew G (Peru) for always being a positive role model and supporting the children in the class. He always goes beyond the possible.
Year 4 - Tainara A-C (Uganda) for working really hard in all areas of the curriculum and having a positive attitude towards her learning to go beyond the possible.
Year 5 - David C (China) for going beyond the possible with his maths work.
Year 6 - Scarlett S (Fiji) for going beyond the possible with her fantastic writing in her inner monologue for the Applause.
Greenland - Daksh S for going beyond the possible by showing great perseverance and listening skills when learning to tell the time.
Miss Ward - Penny D (Kenya) for always being a kind friend and ensuring everyone is included.  She is a positive role model both in the classroom and the playground and works hard to go beyond the possible.

Clockhouse Weekly Wow

Here is last week's Weekly Wow and as usual there were a lot of things to 'wow' about last week.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you that we have more Clockhouse Value Champions of 2023-2024!

A huge congratulations to

Lana W (Australia)

who has earned the Respect Champion Award for 2023-2024!

I would like to nominate this child because of the way she asked such thought-provoking questions on our trip. Her curiosity and insightful questions started some great conversations and made all of us think more deeply about what we were learning at Junior Citizen. Lana's questions showed her eagerness to learn and encouraged more children to participate. She was also exceptionally polite and respectful to all the staff when she was in each activity and they commented on her manners.

Wahab R (Australia)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This term, Wahab has truly blossomed, showcasing significant growth in both his learning and confidence. Initially quite reserved, he has gradually emerged as an active and enthusiastic participant in class. His newfound self-assurance has empowered him to engage more openly in discussions, ask insightful questions, and tackle complex problems with a positive attitude. Wahab's growth this term shows he's gaining a lot more confidence, marking a big step forward in his learning journey!

Charlie J (Fiji)

who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Everyday during the stayers week he has gone above and beyond to make sure another child was ok, talking him through his anxiety with so much compassion in a way I have never witnessed Charlie to do. His behavior has been exceptional and presented the school the best amongst the group, even on public transport and at the venues. He said please and thank you to every member of staff at the venues, the bus driver even the people on the trains that gave way to the children. Charlie was the first to ask if we needed help with cleaning the classroom after every activity  in class or to help get resources. I could write a further three pages of praise for him, these are some highlights. We are so proud of him and how far he has come this year and is so deserving of this award.

Harvey C (India)

who has earned the Excitement Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This student never fails to be enthusiastic and engaged in his learning, no matter the subject. He is filled with excitement and always asks insightful questions, showing that he is thinking deeply about his learning. Recently, he helped to host our class celebration assembly and we were all really proud of him for this. I would like to recognise him for the excitement he brings into class India.

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!

Fabulous Football from Year 4!

Clockhouse had  a great time when they attended a football festival at Upminster Junior School. The team were filled with excitement and could not wait to play their first match of the day. The team put in tremendous effort and encouraged each other throughout every match and displayed amazing sportsmanship on and off the pitch.

The festival started with a match against Harold Wood Primary School which kept the boys on their toes passing the ball back and forth up the pitch, making some great interceptions and winning the ball back once they found their stride as a team, resulting in a 2-0 defeat.

Despite the defeat in the first game this gave the boys the determination to work hard as a team in their different positions across the pitch to get the job done! The team played incredibly well together against Ardleigh Green Junior School, with Harry making some brilliant saves and Reean scoring not only one but two excellent goals. Full time score - 2-0 to Clockhouse.

The team took on their third opponents of the day, Upminster Juniors (team two) with momentum starting to grow amongst the team the boys managed to win the ball back on several occasions with some great work from the defenders passing the ball up the pitch allowing Reean and Frankie to both score. Upminster came back with determination and managed to score, but this did not stop the team allowing George to score the last goal of the match ending with a 3-1 victory.

The boys were now starting to understand the dynamics of the team and enjoying playing together to represent the school with pride. The next match the boys came up against St Marys Primary, this was a hard challenge met with St Marys making some great saves and winning the ball back, despite their great effort, Reean scored at the last minute resulting in a 1-0 score to Clockhouse.

The last two matches ended on a high with a 3-0 victory against Upminster Junior (team 1) with Jack, Caleb and George scoring some brilliant goals with Bobby and Elliot making some great passes and interceptions which continued into the last match of the day. This was against Suttons Primary resulting in a great challenge with Jack, George and Reean scoring some amazing goals putting Clockhouse in front 3-1 on the end whistle.

The Team made the whole school proud with their great determination and effort throughout the day and in their training sessions prior to the match with coach Nick who has worked incredibly hard to make the team a success.

Well done Team Clockhouse!

Team - Elliot (Uganda), Caleb (Uganda), Harry (Uganda), George (Uganda), Jack (South Africa), Frankie (South Africa), Reean (Kenya) and Bobby (Kenya)
