Clockhouse had a great time when they attended a football festival at Upminster Junior School. The team were filled with excitement and could not wait to play their first match of the day. The team put in tremendous effort and encouraged each other throughout every match and displayed amazing sportsmanship on and off the pitch.
The festival started with a match against Harold Wood Primary School which kept the boys on their toes passing the ball back and forth up the pitch, making some great interceptions and winning the ball back once they found their stride as a team, resulting in a 2-0 defeat.
Despite the defeat in the first game this gave the boys the determination to work hard as a team in their different positions across the pitch to get the job done! The team played incredibly well together against Ardleigh Green Junior School, with Harry making some brilliant saves and Reean scoring not only one but two excellent goals. Full time score - 2-0 to Clockhouse.
The team took on their third opponents of the day, Upminster Juniors (team two) with momentum starting to grow amongst the team the boys managed to win the ball back on several occasions with some great work from the defenders passing the ball up the pitch allowing Reean and Frankie to both score. Upminster came back with determination and managed to score, but this did not stop the team allowing George to score the last goal of the match ending with a 3-1 victory.
The boys were now starting to understand the dynamics of the team and enjoying playing together to represent the school with pride. The next match the boys came up against St Marys Primary, this was a hard challenge met with St Marys making some great saves and winning the ball back, despite their great effort, Reean scored at the last minute resulting in a 1-0 score to Clockhouse.
The last two matches ended on a high with a 3-0 victory against Upminster Junior (team 1) with Jack, Caleb and George scoring some brilliant goals with Bobby and Elliot making some great passes and interceptions which continued into the last match of the day. This was against Suttons Primary resulting in a great challenge with Jack, George and Reean scoring some amazing goals putting Clockhouse in front 3-1 on the end whistle.
