Year 5 and 6 were treated to a special guest in the shape of bronze medal winning Olympian - Nethaneel Mitchel-Blake. Nethaneel shared his story from becoming involved in Athletics as a youngster, all the hard work and dedication, the set backs and the successes of becoming an Olympic bronze medallist. The children enjoyed this and were full of fantastic and interesting questions.
After the assembly, some Year 5 and 6 children were treated to a unique sprinting workshop led by Nethaneel. He joined them for Mile a Day before putting the children through their paces with a similar training experience to what he would have on a daily basis. Nethaneel remarked on several occasions how impressed he was with their ability and determination to listen and improve. The afternoon finished with a small Question and Answer session and Nethaneel signing some marathon numbers for the children.
This was truly a unique opportunity and an inspiring visit that the children absolutely loved.
