Day 36 of the Clockhouse Family

Good evening Clockhouse

Firstly I apologise for being a bit later than usual, as I am sure you can imagine, it has been a busy day!

I hope you have all had a good Bank Holiday weekend and enjoyed the VE Day celebrations. From what I can see lots of you enjoyed celebrations with your family. Well here we are at Week 8, it is so hard to believe. As I write this message I am about to listen to Boris Johnson doing the daily briefing and wondering what we will be told next.

Thank you to all the parents in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 who have already responded to the questionnaire I sent out regarding these year groups returning to school on 1st June. I have read your responses so far and in true Clockhouse spirit, you have found yourselves apologising - there really is no need! I appreciate your honesty and totally respect your need for more information before deciding whether to send your child back to school in line with what the government have said. I can assure you there is lots of work going on behind the scenes to address this and once we have further clarity from the government, this will of course be communicated with you.

In the meantime it is business as the 'new' normal.  In school, the children have been busy. They have completed their Google Classroom work and started to make a giant rainbow for the front of the school. 'Team M1' have been working with the children and supporting the community. Mrs Jarvis has worked with Nursery, Reception and Year 1, Miss Martin with Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 and Miss Cason with Year 5 and 6. They have been supported by Mrs Leach and Mrs Noe. Mrs Mortimer has been in the office and we also had Mr Gary with us. I have also been in school today!

Somethings to look out for this week
Whilst we are not together we are still busy planning things! Things to look out for this week include:
  • The next Votes for Schools information and vote - about the living on Mars this week
  • My weekly Tuesday video message
  • Our next video coming out with all your lovely messages
  • Mrs Everingham doing another live workout on our school Facebook page (Wednesday 13th at 10.00am)
  • More staff 'Build our Hashtag' Shuttle Challenges
  • Our next virtual Achievement Assembly - we are busy looking for our Home Learning Heroes for this week already!
Please keep using #ourclockhousefamily with things that we are posting as a further way of keeping in touch. We might not be seeing each other every day but we are still one community who care for each other!

If you are out exercising, we have a new sign on our gates - we hope you like it!

Our community - Our school - A family and a home for everyone!
Stay safe and keep smiling

Mrs Savidge
