Day 45 of the Clockhouse Family

Good evening Clockhouse

And just like that it is the end of the first half of the Summer Term and the end of Week 9 - where did that go. Well done to you all for another strange but very positive term on the whole for Clockhouse Primary School. We have had our ups and downs, we have had very happy times and also very sad times as a community but together we have got through it as we always do.

A big thank you to all those in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 who completed the return to school questionnaire. This has really helped us with our planning and as I always say, I respect the decision you have chosen to make. Whatever that may be it is the right decision for your family at this time. Despite it being half term next week we will continue to communicate our plans with you moving forward.

As I am sure you will agree the staff have done a phenomenal job this term at keeping in touch with you and providing any support you have needed. I am sure you join with me in thanking them. This is definitely a marathon not a sprint and the staff do need a break! Like last holiday please can I therefore ask that you only Dojo in an emergency to give the staff a much needed rest next week. I am sure you understand this and thank you for your respect in advance. If you do need us though we are still here and this form of communication can be used. Our responses might just be a little slower. You can also call the school - phones will be manned between 7.45am and 3.30pm on option 3 or 5. Please be aware that school will be closed on Monday. Thank you for your support in this.

As next week is half term, today will be the last day of learning being set daily on Google Classroom for the next week. Everyone does need a break, including you and the children. So that you have something to keep you going we will still provide a weekly overview for you to use as well as the challenge of the day should you wish to make use of these. Normal business with Google Classroom will resume on 1st June for those not in school. Please do enjoy the break!

'Team F2' have been working with the children and supporting the community today.  The children in school have spent time doing some P.E. as well as completing their Google Classroom work. Miss Maan has worked with Nursery, Reception Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 and Mr Yarrow with Year 5 and 6. They have been supported by Mrs Price and Mrs Hickson. A range of staff including the whole of the Senior Leadership Team have been in school today preparing on planning.

Highlights of the Week:
All your amazing home learning and the things you have been getting up to at home and at school are a highlight of every week and can be seen in the photos below. Other highlights this week have to be:
  • Year 2 and your great costumes for your princesses and knights day and all the work you have been doing about castles. You all looked amazing and thank you for making the effort.
  • All the lovely things parents / carers said about the school with your feedback, it is so lovely to read, very humbling and a great motivator for us all.
  • The very special delivery from Churchill’s today, they arrived at lunchtime with food for us all as Key Workers - what a lovely and very gratefully received gesture.
  • Jo from S Club 7 and her amazing video - just wow!
These are just a few, there really are so many more! What has been your highlight of the week?

Please keep using #ourclockhousefamily with things that you are posting as a further way of keeping in touch. We might not be seeing each other every day but we are still one community who care for each other!

If you do have any feedback for us about what we are doing and how we can improve, please do let us know.

All that leaves me to say is, thank you for your continued support and kind words at what is such a difficult time for us all and from all at Clockhouse Primary School have a great weekend at home!

Enjoy the selection of photos below!
