Clockhouse remain undefeated after boys football team clash with Parklands.

In a rich vain of form following last week's first victory the boys football team welcomed Parklands for the first league game of the season.

At the end of last year Clockhouse lost narrowly to the same Parklands side so today the team had a point to prove.

Despite a few fresh faces in the squad from last week, Clockhouse started the stronger side Callum D and Bobby I combining well to nullify any Parklands attacks.

Clockhouse has a sustained period of pressure with a few glorious chances being missed. That being said Aidan F, usually the midfield maestro who pulls the strings, found a chance following a scramble in the box, which he placed nicely in the bottom corner to give Clockhouse the lead.

Clockhouse kept up the good pressure and were clearly the better side, Charlie M again showing his defensive qualities despite playing out of position whilst Callum D continued to be a thorn in the Parklands side with crucial touches. As the half went on Brandon M got more involved and his nice footwork down the left side created a glorious opportunity for Callum L to double the advantage which sadly shaved the post.

Half time Clockhouse 1 - 0 Parklands.

At half time Mr Yarrow praised the sides hard work and said 'do not concede an early goal keep playing the ball in behind the opposition'. Sadly it went completely the wrong way and within a minute Parklands drew level as they caught the Clockhouse wingers napping and got in behind the defensive.

If anything this left the remainder of the game to be played at a frantic pace with both sides having to soak up serious pressure. Parklands continued to play the ball in to their unmarked wingers only to be denied by some resilient defence from Callum D and Charlie M and the shot stopping of Charlie B. Whilst Clockhouse were exploiting a weakness down the right wing using Bobby L's pace.

The next goal in the game came courtesy of captain Callum L who put Clockhouse back in front following some great midfield play once more where Aidan F and Bobby L combined.

Parklands could well feel a little hard done by and it did not take long before an unfortunate own goal drew the sides level once more.

Despite a few final chances from Callum D and Bobby L Clockhouse could not find the winner.

Final Score Clockhouse 2 - 2 Parklands

The result earns Clockhouse their first league point of the campaign and spirits remain high following some great play in parts. Once again we would like to thank Mark from Collier Row FC who has given up his time today to help with the new pitch and to once again take the whistle.
