Clockhouse draw

Well done to the boys football team on Friday, who took on Crownfields in a local fixture and our first home game.

As always all the boys played well, did us proud and despite the mud were committed to the very end.

We drew 1-1, well done to all the team and to Teraun Davis the goal scorer!

There are lots more matches coming up, we will keep you posted.

Boccia Team News

A big well done to the Clockhouse Boccia team who took part in a Borough wide competition on Friday afternoon at the YMCA.

The children, along with Mrs Pacheco, Mr Thomas, Mrs Herbert and Mrs Jackson all had a wonderful time and the children did there very best and made us all proud!

We are unsure of the final result yet but as always it is the taking part that is so important. We will let you know the result when we find out!

Well done team Clockhouse!

Reminders for week beginning 27th January 2014

We hope that the Year 4 Parents / Carers enjoyed coming into school on Thursday morning. We hope that you found this useful, both the staff and children certainly enjoyed working with you in school.

The visit from our Danish colleagues went really well, thank you to all our Digital Leaders who helped to showcase computing at Clockhouse!

As one busy week ends another busy week starts!

Year 5 and 6 children are doing bikeability from Monday through to Thursday so please do not forget to bring your bikes to school and all other necessary equipment.

On Monday also, Mrs Edgar and the Home School Support team are running the Sleep Seminar. This is taking place in the morning in the Parents room in Key Stage 1. There are still a few places left should you wish to join them.

Good luck to the choir who will be taking part in the annual Young Voices concert at the O2 on Thursday. This is now firmly embedded in Clockhouse tradition and a truly lovely occasion for all those involved.

Have a good week everyone!

Due to the up to date technological set up we provide for our children, Clockhouse has been recommended to our Danish friends as one of the schools to visit. We are very pleased and proud to welcome our Danish colleagues who will be looking at how we use ICT across the school, including the use of tablet computers.

Reminders for Week Beginning 13th January 2014

It was lovely to welcome everyone back last week and we were pleased to hear about everyone's Christmas Holidays.

There are lots of different things happening in school this week, so please read on to find out!

Year 6
Please remember that the Year 6 children have their historical dress day tomorrow (Monday). Children have been asked to come to school dressed as an historical figure or wear a costume that represents an historical era.
Also on Monday the Community Police and Transport for London will be in school security marking Year 6 bikes. Please ensure that the form sent home on Friday is completed and securely attach to your child's bike (in a plastic bag if it is raining). Bikes should be left in the fenced off area outside 4MM. We will be offering this to other Year Groups in the near future.

Year 6 will also be visiting HMS Belfast on Friday. Please see your child's class teacher should you require any further information. Please ensure children get to school on time fully equipped for the day, as they will be leaving straight after registration.

Year 1
Year 1 children have their Sports Fashion Show tomorrow (Monday). Please send the children in with their sports outfit in a clearly labelled plastic bag. They should come to school in normal school uniform.

Year 2
We look forward to welcoming lots of our Year 2 Parents and Carers on Thursday morning for the Year 2 'Learn with your Child Morning'. We hope that you find this a worthwhile and useful experience.

Please can we also take this opportunity to remind Year 1, 2 (Thursday) and 5 (Wednesday) parents / carers that your Year Groups offer 'Ready, Steady Read' mornings, which gives you the opportunity to come in and read with your child before school. Please do come and join us. We hope to extend this to more year groups in the future.

Have a good week everyone!

Wednesday 8 January 2014

Calling all Year 2 Parents / Carers

Welcome Back to School and reminders for Week Beginning 6th January 2014

Happy New Year everyone!

We all hope that you have had a fantastic Christmas and that 2014 has got off to a good start for you all! On behalf of all the staff a huge thank you for all the lovely cards and gifts we received prior to the Christmas break.

As you are aware we are back to school tomorrow (6th January) and are looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early!

Please ensure that all the children return to school with all the necessary equipment they require - full P.E. kits, water bottles, coats, home learning, reading books and anything else they need. Please can we also remind you of the importance of full school uniform and that this along with coats are clearly named.

169 children achieved 100% attendance at school last term, can we beat this this term? Good luck everyone.

As always we look forward to working with each and everyone of you in 2014!
Here is to another successful term at Clockhouse Primary!

See you all tomorrow and have a good week.
