Hot Chocolate with the Head

As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.

This year we are all trying our best to go 'Beyond the Possible' in everything to ensure that our school is a fabulous place to be and the children get the best all round experience possible. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Mrs Reinecke and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this and then they get to have Hot Chocolate with Mrs Savidge!

This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to going 'Beyond the Possible':

Nursery - Nesma H for her beautiful, beyond the possible singing in our concert.
Reception - Olympia A (Wales) for going beyond the possible and making wonderful progress with her reading.
Year 1 - Amira C (Spain) for going beyond the possible and pushing herself in all aspects of learning.
Year 2 - Alex B (USA) for making exceptional efforts to improve his learning which are beyond the possible.
Year 3 - Piper S (Brazil) for her consistent effort to achieve beyond the possible to achieve her best in every lesson.
Year 4 - Harold H (Kenya) for always being positive and pushing himself in all areas of the curriculum, particularly writing
Year 5 - Lois M (China) for going beyond the possible in Design and Technology. Lois made a number and a range of improvements to her CAMs mechanism, showing her resilience and greatly improving the working of her toy.
Year 6 - Dolly-Rose D (Fiji) for excellent work and effort with mastering fractions, decimals and percentages this week. She really has gone beyond the possible.
Greenland - Matas T for going beyond the possible and using adjectives to describe a character in a story.

Polar Express Day 2023

Year 2 had a great time during their Polar Express Day!

They enjoyed coming to school dressed in their pyjamas, tasting hot chocolate and watching Polar Express as part of their learning about Polar Regions.

Year 2 love Colchester Zoo

The Year 2 children have had a great time learning all about The Polar Region.

As part of this they had a great time visiting Colchester Zoo and seeing all the different animals. They also had an extra treat and got to personally meet some very special people and animals.

They all had a great time and their behaviour was exemplary, even the public and the coach driver commented on how wonderful they were.

Well done everyone!

Thank you Clockhouse

Mrs Johns, along with our Year 6 School Parliament representatives had a great time when they visited Time FM.

The children took some of the money we raised from the Cake Sale and went and bought lots of presents for the Time FM Christmas Appeal. They they delivered them on the schools behalf and got to go on the radio!

Well done Clockhouse and thank you!

Weekly reminders for week beginning 18th December 2023

Well, it is almost impossible to believe that we only have 2 days to go until the end of the term. What a term it has been! I am sure you will agree that it has been a successful time at Clockhouse for so many different reasons and I hope, as we move to the Christmas holidays, we can all reflect positively on the last term. The children have certainly done you and us so, so proud. Their resilience and determination to succeed never ceases to amaze us each day!

Last week in school we continued to try to give the children a fantastic Christmas experience. The story of Winston continues this week. We hope the children enjoyed Christmas Dinner on Friday. I have to say the children (and staff) all looked amazing in their Christmas jumpers!

Clockhouse Weekly Wow

Here is last week's Weekly Wow and as usual there were a lot of things to 'wow' about last week.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you that we have more Clockhouse Value Champions of 2023-2024!

A huge congratulations to

Phoenix K (New Zealand)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Phoenix has been bubbling over with excitement these past weeks as he has been working towards different Scout Badges and recently he completed all his badges for life skills, including first aid and been on expeditions and a variety of overnight stays. He has worked so hard to achieve all of these and we are all very proud of his achievements and perseverance in never giving up to achieve the goal he really wanted.

Amelia E (New Zealand)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2023-2024!

I have been really impressed with how hard Amelia has been working in class - especially through her topic and science lessons. Her enthusiasm for these subjects is infectious and I love when she eagerly shares her learning and opinions with the class. Keep up the fantastic learning  Amelia, we are all proud of you and can't wait to see how much more progress you will make this year.

Fessy A (Fiji)

who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2023-2024!

This child always shows excellent behaviour and he has been a great addition to Class Fiji. He tries his absolute best in everything he does and it a pleasure to teach.

Victoria J and Iris B (South Africa)

who has earned the Nurture Champion Award for 2023-2024!

These two girls in our class are particularly good gymnasts.  During a recent gymnastics lesson, they noticed that a friend not only did not have a partner to work with, but was also struggling to perform the rolls we were learning correctly.  Without being asked to, they warmly invited their friend to join them, then spent the whole lesson showing her how the rolls are performed.  It was wonderful to watch the kindness, patience and encouragement they showed to her.  Not only were they wonderful friends, but they are clearly also excellent teachers as by the end of the lesson all three girls were performing the rolls successfully! Congratulations Victoria and Iris, I am very proud of you and glad to have you as members of my class!

Alex H (USA)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Alex works hard in all lessons, he asks questions to clarify his understanding. His presentation in books is outstanding. He is always sharing his love of learning with others.
Keep it up Alex. What a star you are.

Louie F (USA)

who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2023-2024!

Louie is growing in confidence more and more everyday. He shows a real love of reading so his comprehension skills are improving. He works hard in all lessons and contributes his knowledge and ideas in class discussions. Keep impressing me Louie.

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!
