Fun in the sun for boys at Havering cricket tournament!

Clockhouse Navigate Stubbers!

Recently Clockhouse took a group of Year 5 children to an Orienteering festival at Stubbers. On the day the children were taught the skills to read a map and navigate around a course finding a number of checkpoints.

Clockhouse split into six teams to compete against other teams from a number of other primary school across Havering. Each Clockhouse team was appointed a team leader, The Clockhouse timings for the event were as follows:

Team Tia - 10mins 22secs
Team Miley - 11mins 28secs
Team Kamran - 13mins 27secs
Team Teddy - 14mins 6secs
Team George - 16mins 28secs
Team Honey - 17mins 19secs

Mr Yarrow commented on the schools efforts saying 'The children represented the school as fantastic ambassadors. Orienteering and outdoor adventurous activites is something as a school we will be looking to do more of over the next academic year, today these children had an opportunity to get a head start and I look forward to seeing how much they develop in a year. Well done to all involved I hope they all enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all the parents who helped with transportation, and to Miss Martin for her help and support on the day!'

AMAZING Achievement for a Clockhouse Gymnast

We are absolutely delighted to let you know that one of our Year 5 children, Grace Barker, competed this weekend at the Acrobatic Gymnastics National Finals. This is a HUGE achievement as, in order to get to the finals, the competitors have to win their regional preliminary competition first of all. At the nationals they compete against the best from across all of the regions within the UK.

Grace and her partner performed a near perfect routine in the grade one women pairs category and  finished in an amazing 8th place, meaning they are the 8th highest scoring Grade 1 women pair across the whole of the nation.

We are so proud of her, her hard work and her dedication to the sport.

Well done Grace!

To celebrate the end of a long week and as part of their learning about World War II, Year 6 had a great time at the Royal Gunpowder Mills last Friday.
