Former Clockhouse Pupil Tony Cottee visits

As part of our Community Week we were really excited to welcome former pupil, England and West Ham player Tony Cottee to Clockhouse this morning.

He is taking assembly in both Key Stage 1 and 2 and will also be visiting classes!

A great experience for the children!

Reminders for week beginning 24th February 2014

Firstly, welcome back to you all, we hope that you have all had a lovely half term and that the children are ready for the busy term ahead!

Please remember that school is closed to pupils tomorrow as it is a staff training day. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 25th February.

This week sees our annual community week for Key Stage 1 and 2. This has become some what of a tradition for Clockhouse and gives us a chance to get out into our local community and do something for them. If you have not yet returned your consent for please do so on Tuesday to avoid the children not being able to partake in the activities. We also have ex West Ham Player and a former Clockhouse pupil Tony Cottee visiting on Wednesday!

Good luck to the girls and boys football teams who are taking part in a borough competition on Tuesday and Thursday respectively. Families are more than welcome to go along to support.

The grand unveiling of the Parents Room mural (painted by the children) is happening on Wednesday, this will include a visit from the Romford Recorder, so keep an eye out for us in the paper next week!

The February newsletter will be coming out this week, so please look out for this.

School Council visit to the House of Commons

Today the School Council have gone with the Broadford Primary School Council to visit the House of Commons!

We are pleased to report that they have arrived safely, have had lunch and are about to embark on their tour.

Reminders for week beginning 10th February 2014

Firstly may I take this opportunity to thank those of you that took the time to speak to the Ofsted inspectors on either Thursday or Friday or who filled in the Parents View on the Ofsted website.

Thank you to all the parent / carers who attended the Year 6 'Learn with Your Child' morning we hope you found this useful. Also thanks to those parents / carers who took the opportunity to come in a read with their child before school, please do keep doing this!

We look forward to welcoming one of our School Governors - Marcus Giddy into assembly tomorrow to discuss the role of the church in the local community. 

Year 4 are off to Stapleford Abbots Flight Center on Wednesday, if you have not done so already please ensure consent forms are returned no later than Tuesday.

Sadly last weeks football matches had to be cancelled due to water logged pitches. Hopefully this weeks matches will get to go ahead. On Wednesday the girls play Harold Court at home and the boys take on Parklands Junior away on Thursday. Good luck to you all, please come along and cheer the team on!

1AC do not forget it is your Parents Evening this week. Information about Parents Evening for the rest of the school will continue to come home this week, please return slips promptly for your appointment.

Reminders for Week Beginning 3rd February 2014

Thank you to all the parents / carers that attended the Sleep Seminar on Monday. Those who attended found this useful. If you were unable to attend but think you would be interested in the seminar please speak to Mrs Edgar or Mrs Ayling or leave a message for them at the school office.

Well done to all the children who took part in the Young Voices concert at the O2 on Thursday. Singing with 7000 children is certainly an experience as is being in the audience watching them all. We hope you all enjoyed it whether you were participating or watching.

We look forward to welcoming the Community Police Officers into assembly tomorrow to discuss their role in the community. Last week, staff from Tesco's visited to talk about their role in the Collier Row community.

Year 6 have got their second 'Learn with Your Child' morning on Thursday. We look forward to seeing lots of parents / carers there.
Year 3 also start their 'Ready, Steady Read' mornings this Friday. Please come along for 10 minutes and read with your child.

We have two football matches this week (weather permitting). On Thursday the boys are playing Harold Court away, with the girls playing the return fixture on Friday. Good luck to you all, please come along and cheer the team on!
