Hot Chocolate with the Head

As you all know we are constantly striving to improve Clockhouse for your children.

This year we are all trying our best to 'Be Exceptional' in everything to ensure that our school is a fabulous place to be and the children get the best all round experience possible. Each week, the Heads of Year as well as Miss Ward, Mrs Reinecke and Mrs Savidge choose a person (child or adult) who has been seen to do this and then they get to have Hot Chocolate with Mrs Savidge!

This week the following Clockhouse Citizens have been seen to 'Be Exceptional':

Nursery - Mattias P for being exceptionally well behaved and following the rules.
Reception - Sebastian B (Northern Ireland) for trying exceptionally hard with his work and to follow the 3R's.
Year 1 - Rose S (Spain) for stepping out of her comfort zone and wearing her school uniform, an exceptional step.
Year 2 - Tommy J (USA) for exceptional work in maths.
Year 3 - Amalie S (Argentina) for developing her confidence and trying exceptionally hard to answer questions in class.
Year 4 - Aidan V (Uganda) for showing an exceptional improvement with his learning and work in the classroom.
Year 5 - Mia W (Japan) for her exceptional writing and resilience in Maths. We have been learning about angles (which is tricky) and she has made excellent progress because she never gave up!
Year 6 - Aania H (Australia) for being kind and caring at all opportunities of the day and being an exceptional role model to others.
Greenland - Khloe F for trying exceptionally hard to communicate with adults she is less familiar with.
Miss Ward - George V (Japan) for all his hard work in all lessons and his exceptional improvement with his writing skills.
Mrs Reinecke - Emily S (China) for trying exceptionally hard in all aspects of school life.
Mrs Savidge - Aviela C (Japan) for her exceptional efforts to help in 'Time to Eat'.

Well done to all these children and all the other children who have been seen to 'Be Exceptional' this week!

Clockhouse Weekly Wow

Here is last week's Weekly Wow and as usual there were a lot of things to 'wow' about last week.

Time to CELEBRATE - Value Champion Alert!

We are very excited and pleased to share with you that we have more Clockhouse Value Champions of 2022-2023!

A huge congratulations to

Niyaaz A (New Zealand)
who has earned the Respect  Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Niyaaz is the true embodiment of what being respectful means and demonstrates it daily towards everyone he encounters in his school life. He always has a polite word for everyone, a welcoming smile and a message of encouragement when someone is feeling down or struggling with a concept in class. He is not only respectful to his peers and the adults around him but he is also highly respectful of his environment and works hard to help make sure that Clockhouse is an amazing environment where everyone wants to learn.

Tilly C (China)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Tilly has really both impressed myself and Mrs Ibrahima with her resilience and growth mindset, and as such is making great progress, particularly with her spellings. On top of that, she is a pleasure to teach and always shows kindness to others.

Rosie S (China)
who has earned the Excellence Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Rosie always listens carefully, shares her ideas and tries her best. As such, she excels across a number of subjects. Even for her own high standards, she's really stepped it up in English with some rich and detailed descriptions that have definitely taken her writing to the next level.

Logan W (Brazil)
who has earned the Learning Champion Award for 2022-2023!

Logan deserves this award because I have been completely blown away by his effort and determination in every single subject. He absolutely loves coming to school to learn and spend time with his friends and teachers. Recently, he has been getting full marks in his spellings nearly every week and has even been getting 40/40 in his times tables challenges! All of the adults and children in Brazil could not be prouder of him.

A huge well done from everyone at Clockhouse - wear your Values Champion Badge with pride!

Super Science and Super Behaviour in Year 4!

Year 4 had a great time at The Science Museum on London last week. They got to learn about a number of different scientific phenomenon and to develop their scientific enquiry skills.

They were also fantastic Clockhouse citizens and represented the school so well.

Well done Year 4, we are glad you had a great time (despite the long travel time)!

Amazing Athletics from Year 3 and 4

Following the success of Year 5 and 6, it was the turn of Year 3 and 4 to compete in the indoor athletics borough competition.

The Year 3 and 4 squad had many first time performers and they endured a tricky start against some very experienced schools. They never let this faze them, growing into the competition with a wonderful 2nd place in the boys 1+1 lap relay and the girls 1+1 lap hurdles relay. Over in the field, the children took part in long jump, vertical jump, speed bounce, javelin, chest push and 5 step. There were some incredible individual performances in these events which propelled Clockhouse up the leader board.

By the end, Clockhouse took a very respectable 5th place. So close was the competition, we were only a few points away from 2nd place.  Overall, a great experience and learning curve with lots of positives to build on.

Squad - Hallee, Olivia, Amelie, Avani, Poppy, Abigail, Lavinia, Lois, Elizabeth, Jayden, Harrison, Maxim, Reean, Cooper, Toby, Archie, Danilo, Hugo.
