Havering Catering Service have provided us with an updated menu for School Dinners.

We appreciate that the below is difficult to read, so please follow the link below to our school website where a more readable version is available:


We have also been informed that paper copies will be delivered to school soon which we will of course be pass on to you all.

Happy Half Term everyone

From all of us at Clockhouse we hope that you have a fantastic half term.

As always we continue to monitor attendance and punctuality.

This weeks winners are:

2TR and 2SM - 98.28%
4MM - 98.75%
6JD - 98.28%

The attendance for these four classes was really high, it would be great to see other classes attendance this high after the holidays!

Remember we are aiming for 96% each week! We can do it!

Weekly reminders week beginning 20th October 2014

Thank you to all those people who sent in food for the Harvest Festival, the Food Bank were most grateful for the contributions we were able to give.

Reception
We look forward to welcoming our Reception parents to school this week for the 'Meet the Teacher' meetings. Please come and join us to find out about learning in Reception and how to help your child. All meetings are at 2.50pm. Dates are as follows:
Monday 20th October - RCO
Tuesday 21st October - RLS
Wednesday 22nd October - RAF

Year 1
Year 1 parents / carers are invited to stay at school after Ready, Steady Read on Thursday to join the children in their phonics session. We envisage that this will be finished by 9.30am.

Year 2
On Thursday also, Year 2 will be busy making pizza, parents are invited into school to taste their creations at 2.45pm. Please come and join us.

Year 6
Explore Learning are coming in to work with Year 6 on Thursday. This is a good opportunity for the children to further develop Literacy and Maths skills.

Key Stage 2 welcome Pablo Picasso to school on Thursday, he will be particularly working with Year 3 to develop their artistic skills and complete their learning about Pictures, Paintings and Photographs.

Fancy Dress Disco
The PA have their first disco on Thursday. This is a fancy dress theme. Please take your children to the Key Stage 2 hall and pick them up from here after.
Year 1, 2 and 3: 4pm-5.30pm
Year 4, 5 and 6: 6pm - 7.30pm

Year 1 to Year 6
Please remember to send back the consent slips for the trips to the Collier Row library that begin after half term.

Please do not forget that Friday 24th October is a staff training day and therefore the school will be closed to children.

The Dojo League

The Dojo League update


A big well done to everybody for all the positive Dojos that have been awarded this week, there have certainly been a lot!

2TR continue to be in the overall lead of the Dojo League with 4LJ, 4CD and 2SM behind them in second and 3LB, 3LW and 6JD in third place.

Well done to these classes and everyone else for really trying to earn Dojos for their class.

Victory for Clockhouse

Well done to the boys football team who beat local rivals Crownfield Junior this evening! The final score was 4-1 with the whole team playing their part in the win! Goal scorers were Arduna (2), Michael K (1) and Ernest (1).

London Zoo, ETA 4.40pm

Year 4 London Zoo

The Year 4 children have left London Zoo and are on their way back. They have had a great day and are currently expected back between 4.15 and 4.30pm.

Year 4 are off to London Zoo today.

Please remember to send the children to school with a packed lunch and the necessary clothing including a school jumper.

Please also remember that the children need to be in school at 8am to be ready for leaving at 8.15am. unfortunately the coach will not be able to wait for children who are late.

Quad update

The quad is nearly finished and with the rain stopping it is hoped that it will be ready to use after the half term holiday, here are some pictures to keep you updated with the developments.





We have also improved our sand pit in Nursery for all the children to use in the better weather.

Do you have a child born between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011?

If so please can we remind you that you must apply for them to start school online before the 15th January 2015

You can apply via www.havering.gov.uk/eadmissions.  

Even if your child has a brother or sister that attends the school or your child attends the nursery you will still need to apply for a place.
 
For more information please contact the School Admissions Team on 01708 434600 or visit us in the Public Advice & Service Centre (PASC) based in the Liberty Shopping Centre, Romford on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning (09:30 – 12:30).

Weekly reminders for week beginning 13th October 2014

We finally have all our Nursery children in school and we are pleased to say they are settling to school life well.

The revamp to the Quad area in Key Stage 1 is coming along well and we hope that it will be ready to use soon. Thank you to the PA and to you all as we have been able to purchase a staging area for Reception, look out for more improvements in the near future!

Thank you to all the Year 2 and 6 parents and families who came into school to learn with the children last week, the children and staff certainly enjoyed welcoming you into their classrooms, we hope that you enjoyed it to and found it useful.

On Tuesday we are holdimg our annual Harvest Festival. If you are able to send any non-perishable foods on or before Tuesday we would be most grateful. All that is collected will be taken to the food bank.

Year 4

Year 4 are off to London Zoo on Thursday, please remember if you have not done so already, to ensure that you have sent the permission slip for the trip into school by Tuesday at the latest.

Year 5

We have two football matches this week which are both at home. The boys take on Crownfield Junior in a local derby on Thursday with the girls playing St. Peters on Friday. Please come and cheer them on!

A big well done to everybody for all the positive Dojos that have been awarded this week, there have certainly been a lot!

2TR continue to be in the overall lead of the Dojo League with 4LJ and 6JD behind them in second and third place respectively.

Well done to these classes and everyone else for really trying to earn Dojos for their class.

A special well done to 2TR who are attendance winners for the second week in a row and an even bigger well done to 3HF who win for the third consecutive week!

Sadly, our whole school attendance has dropped slightly below our school target of 96%, currently standing at 95.53%!

First match, first victory!

A big well done to the Year 5 and 6 children who braved the weather this afternoon to take on Oakfields School in a Tag Rugby match.

It certainly was a close contest but Clockhouse were victorious winning 15-13!

Well done to all those involved and thank you to the supporters who cheered the team on!

Year 2 Learn with My Child - today

A request for Lego

If anybody has any lego that they no longer need and are willing to donate it to the school Home School Support Team we would be most grateful.

Please bring any unwanted lego that you have to the Key Stage 1 office and leave it for Mrs Edgar.

Operation renovation Quad area has begun!

We are very pleased to tell you that the full renovation of the Quad Area in Key Stage 1 has begun. This purpose behind this is to make maximum use of this space as a learning resource for all the children from Nursery to Year 6.

The builders are busy working and the transformation has begun:

Weekly reminders for the week beginning 6th October 2014

It has been lovely to see many more Nursery children excited and eager to start with us last week. We look forward welcoming the last Nursery children this week.

Year 2 and Year 6
We are very much looking forward to welcoming parents and carers to the first two Learn with my Child Mornings this week. On Wednesday we invite Year 2 families in for the morning and Year 6 on Thursday. Please do come along and learn with the children if you can.

Year 6
Year 6 parents and carers, do not forget we have the SATs and Bournemouth residential meeting on Wednesday at 5pm in the Key Stage 2 hall. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Unfortunately Oakfields postponed the tag rugby match scheduled for last week. This has been rescheduled for this Thursday at home. In other sporting fixtures this week, the girls football team take on Squirrels Heath at home on Friday. Please come along and support the children.

The Year 1 and 2 and the Year 3 and 4 children will be watching a Theatre production about Road Safety on Friday, please do take the time to discuss this with the children.

Do not forget to purchase tickets for the school disco on 23rd October. Please send slips and money back to school and we will pass them to the PA.
