Reminders for week beginning 30th June 2014

Thank you to everyone who supported us with the Enterprise Day and then the School Fete. Your commitment to the cause on Saturday was admirable in the rain and we really do hope you all had a lovely time even though a little soggy. At least the sun shone in the end. It would be wrong not to recognise and thank the PA for the wonderful event they put on. This has been months of preparation and we hope you all agree they really did do a superb job - here is to the next event!

Thank you also to all those parents who attended the Parent Council, we hope you found this a useful and worthwhile way to discuss and impact on the future developments of the school - thank you for your very useful contributions and feedback.

3LK and RNC continue with this years Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. The assemblies promise to be a wonderful occasion if the efforts that the children have put into practising are anything to go by.

Do not forget the Lost Property Give Away on Tuesday in the Key Stage 2 Hall.

We are all looking forward to the Creative Arts Display after school on Wednesday, if you have a child taking part we look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a lovely occasion.

Good luck to the Year 5 and 6 Gym Team who are representing Havering at the London Youth Games on Thursday.

Football success

Well done to the girls football team who beat St. Mary's Primary School this evening.

We won 5 - 0! Our goal scorers were Olivia Ludlow (2), Katie Peart (1), Lili Thompson  (1) and Kate Johnson (1).

Do not forget - Parent Council Meeting today

The Parent Council is run by parents for parents and provides you with an opportunity to contribute your ideas about how the school can further improve.

The first Parent Council meeting will take place on:

Thursday 26th June at 9am in the Key Stage 2 Hall
(Tea, Coffee and Refreshments will be available)

We hope that these meetings will provide you, the parents and carers with the opportunity to ask questions that you may have and suggest ideas of how the school could improve further.

We envisage that the meeting will be finished no later than 10am.

More done to the outdoors

We are very excited to announce the opening of our new Discovery Area in Foundation Stage. The children are already making the most of the changes to their environment!





Girls Footballing Success

A big well done to the Girls Football team who took part in Linda Galloway football tournament at Emerson Park School on Saturday.

All the girls worked tirelessly in the heat and got through to the semi-finals. This is the furthest a Clockhouse team have got in this competition.

Reminders for week beginning 23rd June 2014

Thank you to everyone who got into the World Cup spirit on Friday, even after Thursday night, it was lovely to see all the children dressed up!

It is another busy week at Clockhouse which is just the way we like it!

This week sees us embark on what has now become one of our Clockhouse Traditions. It is ENTERPRISE WEEK! The children will be busy creating there enterprise ideas and all those budding entrepreneurs out there will be marketing their products during the  week and selling them on Friday.

4LJ and 1AL continue with this years Celebration Assemblies on Monday, we look forward to seeing many of you there to celebrate all the learning that they have done so far this year. The assemblies promise to be a wonderful occasion if the efforts that the children have put into practising are anything to go by. 
4LJ - 9.00am (Key Stage 2 Hall)
1AL - 2.50pm (Key stage 1 Hall)

Year 6 has been invited to attend the Borough Junior Citizen Event and will be going on Monday. Please ensure that you have returned your consent form for this. It promises to be an informative and interesting day.

Following the success of the Metro Bank coming into school to work with the Year 4 children to help them learn about finances, the children are off to the bank to see what happens behind the scenes first hand on Tuesday. Again please ensure consent forms are returned.

5JD are off to Bower Park for a day of sports on Wednesday. If you have not yet sent consent forms in please do so on Monday.

Thursday sees us embark on a new venture, our Parent Council. I know that Mr Giddy is ready and rearing to go with this, so please come along and support your school.

As happened last year, the children from El Salvador will be visiting Year 6 on Friday. We look forward to welcoming them and we are sure that they, as well as our children, will get a lot from this experience.

Good luck to the girls Football team who take on St. Mary's Primary School at home on Friday. Please come along and cheer the girls on.

Look out for the June newsletter coming out at the end of the month.

Finally the week finishes with the School Fete on Saturday (28th June, 11 -2). Please come along on Saturday and support the PA. It promises to be a lovely day with lots to do!

Ex-pupil missing

Please can you all keep a look out for Milly Davy, an ex-Clockhouse pupil whose brothers currently attend our school.

Milly was last seen at 8am yesterday morning (Thursday) in a Bower Park School uniform.

Parent Council Meeting - next week

Following the success of the Parent Governor meeting earlier this term, we are pleased to be able to invite you to the first Clockhouse Parent Council Meeting. This is part of our continued efforts to further engage parents and carers in all that we do.

The Parent Council is run by parents for parents and provides you with an opportunity to contribute your ideas about how the school can further improve.

The first Parent Council meeting will take place on:

Thursday 26th June at 9am in the Key Stage 2 Hall
(Tea, Coffee and Refreshments will be available)

We hope that these meetings will provide you, the parents and carers with the opportunity to ask questions that you may have and suggest ideas of how the school could improve further.

As the supportive parent body that we know you are, we ask that you maintain the ethos behind this approach and come to the meeting with questions and constructive comments that will enable the school to move forward in the direction that is best for the children and community that we serve.

We envisage that the meeting will be finished no later than 10am.

World Cup Event - tomorrow

As you know the World Cup started in Brazil last week.  To mark this event, during the coming weeks the teachers are planning some lessons with a World Cup theme for the children to enjoy!

We ask that tomorrow the children come to school dressed in red and white, or in any football related clothing.

Year 6 Leavers Photos

Our mud kitchen is now completed and ready for the Foundation Stage children to use this week!





We have lots of new equipment in the Foundation Stage and more to come!


The next phase which is to create an Eco Garden has now begun!

Welcome back to the Year 6 children who went to Bournemouth. Hopefully you have had lots of sleep and ready for the week ahead!

Good luck to the Year 3 and 4 Athletics team who are representing the school in the borough Quad Kids tournament at the stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Members of the choir are also off to The Queens Theatre on Wednesday morning with Miss Ship to practise for the concert they are putting on in the evening. Good luck to them also!

5KS are off to Bower Park for a day of sports on Tuesday with 5AW going on Wednesday. If you have not yet sent consent forms in please do so on Monday.

Mrs Edgar and Mrs Ayling have arranged a number of classes for parents and carers this week:
Jewellery Making - Tuesday 3.30 - 5
Science Challenge - Wednesday 3.30 - 5
Potty Planting - Thursday 3.30 - 5
Please contact Mrs Edgar or Mrs Ayling should you wish to come along.

RAGs and the Romford Recorder are visiting Year 4 on Thursday afternoon for them to donate the money they made at the Cake Sale. Thank you to all those who came along and enjoyed the cakes, they were certainly very tasty!

4LJ have their reward for winning the Dojo League on Friday and have decided to have a picnic on the filed. They will still need their lunch but school will be providing cakes and drinks for the picnic.

Do not forget the Summer Fete on 28th June!

Bournemouth arrival time

Currently the Sat Nav is still saying 7.30pm, we are and they are keeping everything crossed! The children are currently singing them home!

We will keep you posted and apologise for any inconvenience caused, but sadly no one can predict the traffic!

They are once again stuck in traffic although the children are all in good spirits as are the staff! Currently the Sat Nav is saying 7.30pm.

The M25 is gridlocked, but the good news is they have managed to get off it and are now going a different route. The are now expected between 6.30 and 7pm.

There is a lot of traffic on the M25!

At 3.50pm the Sat Nav was saying 2hrs 10 minutes so at the moment the children will arrive no earlier than 6pm.

The children are all packed up and everything is on the coach as well as everyone! They are on their way to Monkey World!

All is well in Bournemouth. The children have had another good night, the sun is shining and they are ready for their trip to Monkey World.

Tonights update

The children (and staff) have had a great day which was ended with a  fabulous disco. They all had the disco outfits at the ready and have danced the night away!

Some are now watching the football whilst others are others are chilling out in their rooms. Bed time soon ready for Monkey World and the drive home tomorrow.

They cannot wait to see you all but have had a fantastic time!


Bournemouth Update

All is going well in Bournemouth!

They have had an absolutely lovely day with lovely weather. They are back at the hotel and are packing ready for departure tomorrow.

Dinner is at 6 and then it is disco time!

The children have all had a good nights sleep, are still having a wonderful time and are looking forward to a day  in Bournemouth. Breakfast is at 8.30 (so they have a little lie in - they are tired!). The sun is shining and they are ready for Crazy Golf, the Oceanarium and lots more!

Tonights update

All is wonderful in Bournemouth!

Another good day has been had and the children have thoroughly enjoyed an evening of beach games.

They are now back at the hotel, having hot chocolate and biscuits and will soon be off to bed in preparation for their day in Bournemouth tomorrow. There are lots of things planned, including a trip to the Oceanarium, Crazy Golf, the amusements and lots more!

This will be the last update today, we will be back with more updates (and photos) tomorrow.

Tonight's Bournemouth update

The children (and staff) have had a marvelous day!!!! Members of the public commended the children for their fantastic behaviour whilst at Salisbury Cathedral - credit must go to them and we are certainly very proud!

They are back from the beach having played lots of games, done lots of digging and have had a great time on the sand. They have had hot chocolate and biscuits and are off to bed!!

This will be the last update today, we will be back with more updates (and photos) tomorrow when they spend the day at Marwell Activity Centre for Quad Biking, High Ropes and Archery!

They are now back at the hotel, dinner is at 6 and then they are off for more fun on the beach!

More changes

 More changes are happening to our Outdoor Area!

A stage has been put into the Nursery outdoor area for Nursery and Reception as well as a start being made to the mud kitchen - very exciting!

The stage in the Key Stage 1 playground has also been replaced for our budding your actors and actresses!

Tonight's Bournemouth update

The children (and staff) have had a great day!!!!

They are back from the beach and have enjoyed their time playing on the sand. They have had hot chocolate and biscuits and will be off to bed soon!!

This will be the last update today, we will be back with more updates (and photos) tomorrow when they visit the farm and cathedral.


Bournemouth update

We have just spoken to Bournemouth and they have all arrived at the hotel safely. They have all unpacked and are just investigating their new surroundings! Dinner is at 6 and then they are off to the beach!

Everything is fine and they are all having a great time!

The Dojo League

As you may already know we have begun a Dojo League!

We are delighted to be able to tell you that last half terms winners were 4LJ with a magnificent 17 points. They will be deciding on the reward they want for this achievement with Miss Jones.

Joint 2nd place went to 4MM and 6SK with 16 points and 3rd place went to 3LW with 15 points.

Well done everyone!

We look forward to seeing who wins this half terms league!
