Attempted Abduction – 8th July

On the advice of the MET Police we have been asked to
share an incident which has happened in Harold Hill this morning. There has
been an attempted abduction of a year 6 girl on her way to Drapers’ Brookside
Junior School.
The vehicle description is distinctive, a grey, green
and brown camouflage patterned Range Rover styled vehicle. There were four
adult men in the vehicle and they asked the child for money and then attempted
to grab her. They drove off, returned almost immediately, pulled up on the curb
next to her again and made a second attempt to pull her in to the
vehicle.
The police are investigating this matter and have asked
us to share this information with schools in order for our community to remain
vigilant.
The police advice is:
· ensure that
children who walk home unaccompanied now walk in pairs
· school or public to
dial 999 if they witness anything suspicious, or sight the vehicle
