Clockhouse Click to win Havering Netball League!

Netball has been a rollercoaster ride so far this academic year. With ups and downs in every game / tournament.

Today Clockhouse played in the Havering Netball League at Noak Hill Sports Complex. Clocks have been successful in previous years & the children looked excited for the opportunity to get out and play following the Christmas break.

In the first game Clockhouse met Branfil. Things seemed to click quickly for Clockhouse who looked refreshed after the christmas holidays. A one sided game finished with Clockhouse winning 6-0. Mia C and Kayleigh S having an eye for the net & looking clinical.

Confidence was high after the first result & the link up play between attack and defence was really refreshing to watch. Next up Clockhouse faced a strong Engayne side. Charlie B was everywhere working tirelessly around the court with Emma S and Oliver K marking the Engayne attackers out of the game to keep the Clockhouse 100% record with a 7-2 victory.

After a rest game Clockhouse battled James Oglethorpe (JOPS). The break came at the wrong time for Clockhouse who despite going 3-0 up got caught out with the pace of the JOPS counter attack eventually losing 5-4. Credit to Frankie R and Taylor H for battling to the end!

This meant Clockhouse went into the last game against La Salette knowing that a big win would put the team in contention for a league title. Ben C had great positioning from the outset openning the scoring. From there Clockhhouse didn't look back. Mia C and Kayleigh M joining Ben C on the scoreboard in a performance that was flawless. Final Score Clockhouse 11 - La Salette 0.

So it all came down to goal difference between Clockhouse, Engayne, & JOPS who all lost one game only. Clockhouse took the Havering League victory with an impressive goal difference.

Mr Yarrow commented on the success saying 'These children deserve so much priase for this achievement! After a hard cup result before Christmas, the children showed just how tenacious they can be with the never give up attitude. They were honestly a pleasure to watch in every game.

It just seemed like things clicked today. Defence battled for every ball & every rebound. Attackers were firing with their shooting & movement. While the wings and center didnt stop moving the whole tournament.

The squad has done both me and the whole school proud. 2020 has been a great sporting year for us so far with 2 sports successes in 2 borough competitons in a row, long may this mentality continue!!!

The children just looked in cruise control at times, having fun with every pass I hope the squad can keep this up when they meet the other league winners in the league cup!

Thanks to all the parents who stayed to support, I hope you are as proud as i am!'

WELL DONE TEAM CLOCKHOUSE!!!

SQUAD: Emma S (c), Oliver K, Frankie R, Charlie B, Taylor H, Kayleigh S, Mia C and Ben C.
