Undefeated Clockhouse retain League Title

Clockhouse welcomed Harold Wood on Wednesday night knowing a high scoring win would ensure they won the Havering North League for the third year in succession.

Harold Wood were aware of the Clockhouse potential and arrived early to warm up. They moved the ball around well and despite a poor Clockhouse warm up the soon to be champions came firing out the blocks. Captain Gracie H and Lily S-E quickly got Clockhouse in front and there was no looking back.

Despite Harold Wood showing an eagerness to move the ball it was Clockhouse who showed fast pace interchanges in possession leaving the Harold Wood defence unable to get anywhere near the Clockhouse attacking play.

With a few players playing out of position after the first period ended, Harold Wood tried to attack but Paris K was relentless in defence denying Harold Wood hardly anytime in their attacking third.

The Clockhouse defence was working hard but the speed of the attacking play was truly unbeatable and Clockhouse went on to show their strength in depth with Charlie B, Sophie L, & Beth C all getting onto the score sheet.

After the game Mr Yarrow was quoted saying 'it's an amazing achievement for the school to win the league title again this year. Not only did we win the league but for the first time we did it undefeated and conceded less than 10 scores on the way.  The squad lost a lot of great club standard players last year and if I am honest it's shown great dedication from all players at netball club to ensure that we won this league. Ironically, the children know the hard work has only just begun as we now go on to compete in the Borough Cup competition against the other seven best schools Havering has to offer. Last year we lost in heartbreaking style in the final. This year's captain Gracie H, played in last year's roller coaster ride and has shown fantastic leadership qualities in ensuring that we won this league title. Many players from across years 4, 5, & 6 have also stepped up and I can't wait for the quarter final draw. Well done to everyone who has represented the school at netball so far this year and to everyone that has been a part of club so far this year! Keep up the good work, remember it will not be getting any easier but with some Clockhouse determination anything is possible!'

FINAL SCORE: CLOCKHOUSE 16 - 0 HAROLD WOOD

SCORERS: Gracie H x 6, Lily S-E x 6, Charlie B, Sophie L x 2, and Beth C
