Netballers Numbers at an all time high for Benhurst fixture.

In just our 2nd netball fixture of the year Clockhouse took a big squad made up of Year 4's, 5's and 6's to Benhurst Primary School for a friendly fixture. The game was twice as long as normal to try and get all players some game time.

Our Year 4's started the game and enjoyed their playing experience. Some great movement across court from Annabelle L created some opportunities for Lola S-E and Sophia M who were unlucky not to score. At the other end of the court the Benhurst goal shooter was doing very well with her shooting to push Benhurst into a 3 point lead. This could of been a lot more had it not been for the strong performance of Dolly-Rose D at goal keeper for Clocks.

The game had a seesaw feel to it as momentum switched and Clockhouse began to find the upper hand despite good Benhurst play. Alex C opened the scoring for Clockhouse. He doubled his tally in quick succession to bring Clockhouse back into the game. With not long left in the 4th period of play Emily P levelled the score with a good shot. Just before the 4th period finished Emily P gave Clockhouse the lead.

Benhurst came out quickly in the 5th and drew level. Benhurst intercepted some of the Clockhouse attacks well and took a 2 point lead before Emily P scored for a third time. With Benhurst leading by just one the game was still in the balance. But late in the final quarter Benhurst extended their lead to win an entertaining fixture.

Mr Yarrow said after the game 'firstly how great is it to play a sports fixture! Since Covid-19 there have been a number of tournaments but finding fixtures has been hard. Thank you to our hosts!

We started the game with a team of predominantly Year 4 children this just shows how bright the future of Clockhouse netball will be! Match experience at such a young age, against children a year or two older than them will prove invaluable!

It was also fantastic to see some of our Year 6's who will be leaving us work so hard in the blue of Clockhouse one last time. I am very proud of them as always!

Thank you to all the travelling supporters and parents who helped transport the children. We couldn't make fixtures of that size possible without the parent community. Thank you to Mrs Bradshaw for her support coaching the team with me.'
