It's official - Time to Celebrate!

TIME TO CELEBRATE!

Dear Parents / Carers

As we are sure you all already know, Clockhouse Primary School was inspected by OFSTED on 14th and 15th June 2023, this was a graded inspection. This Inspection did not come as a surprise to us and we were certainly ready to share with the Inspectors how far the school has come since our last inspection in January 2020. As you know, as a community, we are passionate about giving our children the very best possible experience whilst they are with us and, to this end, we were excited to share this with our special visitors. Since the 2020 inspection, we have worked tirelessly with your support and that of the children, to further improve the school.

The inspectors were certainly impressed with what they saw, telling us that the school is ‘highly ambitious for the children…with an exceptional focus on school development’ amongst so many other wonderful things. We are therefore beyond delighted and proud to be able to attach the report that has now been published. As you will see, the OFSTED Inspectors agreed with our judgement that your child attends an OUTSTANDING school. They also verified our view that the school is outstanding in all five areas on which we are judged – The Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management and Early Years Provision! The attached report identifies the many strengths of our school but the verbal feedback was even more fulsome and, in time, I will share this with you – for now enjoy reading the report and know that you child is receiving an outstanding education whist they are with us. From Mrs Savidge - As you may know, the journey of school improvement has been steep for our school and during my 10 years of headship at Clockhouse we have moved the school from being ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Outstanding’. This is no mean feat and has taken incredible hard work and determination by every single member of staff, the governors, parents and of course every child who has been with us on this journey. To say I am proud is an understatement, but my drive has always been to provide your child(ren) with the best possible education – the one that they deserve and I am delighted that Ofsted recognised this!

We are sure you will be pleased to hear, as we were, that the Inspectors were so very impressed with our children, calling them ‘exceptionally well behaved and polite – they clearly love their school’. Please thank them on our behalf. It would be remiss of us at this point, not to thank the staff who work so hard for our children every day, we are sure you join us in this. Further thanks must go to you all. As parents / carers, you continue to work with us and support us and for that we thank you. Thank you to the many parents / carers who took the time out of their busy days to speak to the Inspectors and say such wonderful things about Clockhouse, it was certainly very humbling to hear and the Inspectors were truly overwhelmed with how supportive you all are, as were we. A further thank you must go to the parents / carers who took the time to respond to the OFSTED questionnaire themselves or help their children complete the children’s version.

If you wish to discuss any matters raised in the report with either of us, please contact us via the school office. Despite the amazing outcome of the inspection, there is no time for complacency as our drive to further develop the school continues. Here’s to the next chapter in the life of Clockhouse as our journey to providing your children with the best possible educational experience continues. We both look forward to sharing this with you!

Yours sincerely

Mrs Jo Savidge                       Mr David Leaper
Headteacher                            Chair of Governors
