Day 31 of the Clockhouse Family

Good evening Clockhouse

I hope you have all had a good weekend and have made a good start to the new week of home schooling. It is so hard to believe that we are now in Week 7 of this strange regime but as you all know we have to keep going so that it ends sooner rather than later! Keep going Team Clockhouse!

I am so glad that you enjoyed the Toilet Roll Challenge Video, we all had lots of fun putting it together. Tomorrow we start making the next video and this is one for children, parents and families, not staff this time, so please keep an eye out for this.

As you have probably realised by now we are having a bit of a History focus this week and are asking that the children spend some time recording this period which will certainly go down in the History books as well as learning about what VE Day is and its importance. We hope you are all looking forward to your family celebrations on Friday. Please keep sending pictures etc. We do so love seeing the children and keeping connected with you all. It gives us some sense of normality when nothing is really normal. As last week, we will post a selection of pictures at the end of the week.

In school, the children have been busy. They have completed their Google Classroom work and also begun recording what it has been like to be a child at school during lockdown! 'Team M3' have been working with the children and supporting the community. Mrs Johns has worked with Nursery, Reception and Year 1, Miss Martin with Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 and Mrs Jarvis with Year 5 and 6. They have been supported by Mrs Tilbury and Mrs Elliott. Mrs Mortimer has been in the office and we also had Mr Gary with us. I have also been in school today!

Somethings to look out for this week

Whilst we are not together we are still busy planning things! Things to look out for this week include:
  • The next Votes for Schools information and vote - about the Coronovirus this week
  • My weekly Tuesday video message
  • A very special challenge that will I require your help with
  • More staff 'Build our Hashtag' Shuttle Challenges
  • Our next virtual Achivement Assembly - we are busy looking for our Home Learning Heroes for this week already!
Please keep using #ourclockhousefamily with things that we are posting as a further way of keeping in touch. We might not be seeing each other every day but we are still one community who care for each other!

The below video really struck a chord with me, particularly considering our school focus this week!

Our community - Our school - A family and a home for everyone!
Stay safe and keep smiling
Mrs Savidge
